I would be for it for certain crimes, but there are too many innocent people that get convicted of stuff they didn't do. So I am against it.

If we could be absolutely certain that the person is guilty of murder, I'm okay with it. Until then, I'm very hesitant to support it. I do think that innocent people have been executed, which makes the whole thing not worth it.

I'm also wondering whether there's a fundamental need for it. Seems like life without parole does the job just as nicely.

According to the Global Road Safety Partnership, almost 1.2 million people are killed and 20 to 50 million injured or disabled in car accidents every year, with 85 percent of the deaths occurring in developing and transitional countries.
The Asia-Pacific region, which accounts for about 16 percent of the motor vehicles worldwide, is the site of 44 percent of all traffic deaths. China, with 71,495 deaths, and India, with 59,927 deaths, had the most traffic fatalities in the world in 1995. The rate of deaths to crashes is 2,000 for every 10,000 in Kenya and 3,000 for every 10,000 in Vietnam.

In developing countries, the costs of motor vehicle accidents represent three to five percent of the GDP. The estimated yearly cost of motor vehicle accidents in developing countries exceeds uS$100 billion.

Turn him over to the parents. Let them decide.

I would be all for it, but for a couple of reasons:

Nobody can be found 100% guilty (unless the US decides, without trial, that you are a bad guy), you don't want to punish people irreversably.

I don't like the idea of the State, a mad senial old KKK judge or a jury of my peers (like there are many atheist, communist, sex gods amongst juries anymore) having the power to kill me. Therefor, it stands, that I wouldn't wish the same on any other person either.

Thirdly, deciding that killing is wrong can't be inforced by killing. That's not the...uh... correct signal to be sending.

A civilized society imprisons people, whatever the cost, and doesn't put them to death. A country wishing to join the Europen Union cannot have capital punishments on its statute books. This reflects the opinions and principles of the vast majority of Europeans. As a European, I am proud of this fact.
