@wildgrass saidYeah, and once in the head. Better marksmanship than your average Imperial Stormtrooper, for sure.
There's nothing he could do. According to prosecutors, the victim was on the other side of a locked door, no words were exchanged, so the homeowner obviously had to shoot him... Twice.
@wajoma saidNowhere did I advocate for someone to pull an advanced move (all moves against people holding a weapon are advanced moves) when they have no training. That you believe no one has had advanced training is ludicrous, at best.
You and suzi are certifiably insane, advising unarmed citizens to grab guns pointed at them if they should be unfortunate enough to be in that situation is going to get people killed. That's the message you're being given by the gun, don't move, don't try any stupid tricks, the needle is all the way in the red on the high risk gauge.
Internet tough guy.
Your advice to just quietly go into that good night is what results in deaths. You can go down crying and whimpering if you want. Advising it for everyone is profoundly gutless.

Community members are demanding justice after a white man in Kansas City shot a black boy, Ralph Yarl, twice for ringing the doorbell of the wrong home.
Ralph Yarl, a 16 year old Black boy, was shot twice by a white man in North Kansas City after accidentally ringing the doorbell of the wrong home while attempting to pick up his sibling. The white man reportedly shot Ralp ...[text shortened]... eryone agreeing the shooter should have been charged and that it was the clearest example of racism.
Even without racism in the equation, there’s something seriously wrong in US society.
WTF???
@wildgrass saidI keep hearing this BS about him shooting through the door.

Every account I read has him opening the door, speaking to the kid, then shooting him in the head, then, after he went down, he shot him again. Clearly intent to kill.
@shavixmir saidYes, but.

When you're speaking of a society in which racism is endemic and systemic, this sort of thing is far too common.

In the one case, you should not discriminate.
In the other case, discrimination is required.
I don't get.it. someone smart please explain.

The shooter has been charged.
"As pressure mounted on Monday afternoon, the Police Department said in a statement that it had submitted the case file to the Clay County prosecuting attorney’s office. The prosecutor, Zachary Thompson, publicly identified Mr. Lester a few hours later and announced that he had been charged, saying what many already believed: “There was a racial component to the case.”"
Guess this is over then.

All Stand Your Ground laws do is remove the duty to retreat, they don't change the requirement that you can only use deadly force when you have a reasonable fear of imminent great physical injury or death.
I don't know what that has to do with "discrimination".
@Suzianne
Has anyone checked the 'interracial murders in the US' stats?
Edit: Here's one.

Wonder if he'll be going home from the hospital on Sunday to a $1000000 fund raising? Nope, probably not, he's dead.
