L.A. Free Clinic was very good to me when I had no health insurance. So was USC's county hospital in Los Angeles. They did an appendectomy, saved my life and charged me nothing.

It only didn't work while there were enough people convinced that capitalism was the only answer. Take out the marauding activities of capital trying to protect itself, and I think you may find that utopia we have not found as yet.

Congradulations!! You discovered the fact that the rich tend to live happier and healthier lives. It remind me of when Kerry and Edwards were running for President. They stopped at a Wendies for a photo opt and nibbled at it and then went back to their RV's for a real meal. No way were they going to eat that crap. Its no wonder the rich tend to live longer.

Now what would you propose to do about it? Perhaps we should redistribute the money and turn to communism? Sorry, it has already been tried. You see human nature does not allow for this. And why ever do (we) always equate socialism with universal health care? There are a lot of people that can't afford health care, and that has nothing to do with being lazy. It's more of a matter of bringing our standard of civilization up to the 20th century. France has an excellent health care system, and it neither puts an undue burden on their citizens with taxes or makes it a socialist country.
