I am blaming the deaths on high costs for cancer treatment and the inability for normal everyday people to afford those treatments.
Cancer treatment in America typically runs between $250,000 and upwards to a million.

Arguably. yes. And in civilised societies with universal health care, people can be refused treatment if they are morbidly obese, for example.
