Too true...look at Hugh Heffner!

What are you talking about?

Maybe you'd better tell the ciggie manufacturers to get their money back, on the compensation claim they settled.

I can hardly imagine a civilization wanting dead people rotting in the streets, spreading the bubonic plague, typhoid and God knows what else.

Or do you suppose the streets shouldn't be there in the first place, because there's no central organization of networks?

And who ...[text shortened]... we have civilization. To make sure these things happen. That's why we have taxes and such.
GeneralIdiot, DSR, Wajoma and Elabore, don't want to live in a civilised society.

They are quite happy living in a Republican run USA.

I guess you're quite happy living in your Victory Mansions, drinking your Victory Gin, shivering in the cold and alone in the dark. No thanks, I'll take a Republican-run USA any day. So will my Venezuelan relatives, Cuban refugees, and any other immigrant that values being rewarded for the work they do rather than for being a member of a special interest group.

What, by being forced to work for minimum wage lower in real terms than the 1950's thanks to Bush, without health care?
You really are a nasty piece of work.

As for your allusion to 1984, it is particularly ironic, given that your beloved leader illegally phone tapped his own people (i.e. you)- and got away with it scott free, of course. I bet that victory gin is leaving a bitter taste in your mouth now, dumbo!

I am blaming the deaths on high costs for cancer treatment and the inability for normal everyday people to afford those treatments.

Cancer treatment in America typically runs between $250,000 and upwards to a million.
So...is there any personal responsibility for how someone lives thier life? If you are provided the freedom to smoke 3 packs a day, eat high fat food, laying on the couch and spend any spare cash on booze & weed, do they have the same right to that $250,000 medical treatment, even if they have done nothing to prevent serious illness?

Isn't the person that takes better care of themselves more deserving?

"Isn't the person that takes better care of themselves more deserving"

Arguably. yes. And in civilised societies with universal health care, people can be refused treatment if they are morbidly obese, for example.

But that is not the point here is it? In Yanksville, people are not treated because they are fit, but because they are rich!

I'm a so called "Rich". I own a business. I employ 3 people. I pay for their health insurance. Many employers pay all or a portion of employees health insurance. It"s Made possible through group Plans. Rich employers aren't just looking out for themselves.

The money is there for a better health care system. We just need a fundamental shift in polocies across many platforms

if you are talking "universal health care" there is not enough money...w/o raising taxes.

howardgee (aka obamafanatic) enjoys living in ''civilised society'' , why worry about work if you could live in a welfare state, where citizens are dependent and less inclined to work?

oh poor howargee, who dreams about a place where people rely solely upon the state for income and support instead of doing things on their own.
