If the world doesn't owe us anything then why do we pay tax??
Homeless people don't pay tax, silly.
As for the Olympic village - isn't it being funded by voluntary taxes i.e. Lottery?
Even if it isn't - if we housed all the homeless, what then? Feed the poor around the world or solve the Aids situation? There's always something else, should we all suffer until everyone's at the same level?

What about VAT? Anyway, we pay tax to keep them off the street
and at least pretend that we live in a civilised society.

Ah yes, the lottery. The tax on people bad at math.
What better reason to blow funds on extravagrants.

Prov 12:24
24 The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor.
(NKJ)

Prov 13:4
4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.
(NKJ)

Prov 24:30-34
30 I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding;
31 And there it was, all overgrown with thorns; its surface was covered with nettles; its stone wall was broken down.
32 When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction:
33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest;
34 So shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

Gmin 1:1 As the unfurgled wimster scurched frothily, the post before is nonsense.
1:2 Wimble Bimble fumble crimble, this has equal relevance
1:3 The man devoid of understanding will suffer, as will the man devoid of fat inheritance by his wasp ancestors.
1:4 the lazy man shall argue thus; wasn't i created lazy, so is it my fault?
1:5 the fat minister will say, no you must work hard, now peel my grape as i consider the divinities
1:6 Urble urble whimsy seems this whole concoction was written by someone who wondered into the desert in mushroom season
1:7 Doesn't matter the ruling class will rewrite it hundreds of years later to enable their oppression of the ignorant, less holy/rich, masses
1:8 Surely we can't really fool everyone with this nonsense? no really, it'll work on enough fools for long enough that it'll just become a habit, and they'll then persecute anyone who disagrees with them, thereby enabling the belief of anyone brutely thuggish enough to want an excuse to beat up on anyone different, thereby causing forced belief which is as good as the real thing because it's all nonsense anyway.

8:59 Nipple nipple fripple, doesn't matter, noone will read this far anyway, and those who do will just say that it is a spiritual matter, impenetrable to the sinful, like the rest of this hallucinogenic-inspired nonsense.

people in extreme poverty do require and deserve assistance.

they require assistance in the short term (food now, and a bed tonight)

they require assistance in the long term (ability to get their own food and bed)

politicians regularly see this and claim this .. they initiate a project for an election!

this is good! it helps a little .. but usually turns sour eventually ... then the next project must be started asap.

helping the extreme poor is always going to be an ongoing project .. the poor of each generation are created on different lines and require different solutions ... continual adaption to their requirements is important.

Yes there will always be something, life is like trying to drain the
ocean with a teaspoon. But we still need to try, that is the essence
of human spirit and endevour.

Yes, we should suffer to help the less fortunate, of course we should.
And we should never be put off the task at hand for fear of more
work ahead. That's a childish mentality.

What do you mean by 'at the same level'?
Do you mean financially? Socially?
Everybody has a right to live and that pretty much levels the playing
field. If you consider yourself better than another, fine, whatever
floats your boat. But the truth is you are just another piece of scum
on the earths surface, just like the rest of us.

I don't need to be surrounded by like minded people to think of
ALL others as equals. It comes naturally to me.

It is a shame that it grinds against the capatalist wheel but that
just keeps me sharp. I'm in the right place thank you and one day
I hope to be in the right time.

Capitalism is a movement just like socialism and communism were.
The only difference is that it's here now and you think it's going to
stay.

It holds more power than its predecessors by encouraging more
greed in people. It brings out the best in people and that I like, but
it has lost itself in process, just like others before.
