Why are people fleeing France and risking their lives to get to the allegedly awful post Brexit fascist led UK?

Why hasn’t the EU welcomed them and given them asylum?

If they have been refused asylum by the EU (with its open borders policy) why should the UK be expected to do so?

Control your borders!
You obviously think Greece and Italy should push these people back into the Mediterranean because once they land there they are in an open borders area.
I thought when we sacrificed our economy and shrunk our life opportunities we would gain control of our borders dive, what happened mate, where you brexiteers lying again?

Why are you constantly lying and dodging, Captain Kirk would never do that.
I answered your questions 3 times now and you’ve dodged every one of mine.
I’ll try again: what happened to getting back control of our borders.

You’ve dogged my questions three times.

They are in my previous (but one) post if fancy tackling them honestly 🙂

Probably because they have been propagandized by the narrative of the pro Brexiteers who all claimed how much better off Britain would be after it's divorce from the EU. People do their homework wherever they're from, and if Britain thought it would be better off, then maybe the Pro EU voices were lying. So get to Britain at all costs, seems a reasonable logical response.

No. I’ve answered thess questions. But let me do so again:

“Why are people fleeing France and risking their lives to get to the allegedly awful post Brexit fascist led UK?”

People are not fleeing France. Their request for asylum has been rejected by the French immigration department (or whichever authority in France does the asylum requests). So they have to leave France.
Britain is no longer part of the EU and immigration pact, so, the refugees can ask for asylum in the UK. I don’t know the status in Northern Ireland on this issue though, there might be an exception there at the moment.
Britain is not fascist. That’s pathetic rhetoric. It is post brexit and economically not at its best… but, hey, nobody is perfect.

“Why hasn’t the EU welcomed them and given them asylum?”

It’s not the EU who gives asylum. It’s individual authorities in a specific country which weighs an asylum request and decides. Because of EU law and agreements, if one authoritity (say country to make it easier) says no, it counts for all EU countries.
Each authority judges according to international standards, but specifics may vary. So, you can’t claim that every denial is similar and create one group, as you are attempting.

“If they have been refused asylum by the EU (with its open borders policy) why should the UK be expected to do so?”

This is basically the same question as your first one. Just because an EU authority has deemed the asylum request invalid, doesn’t mean a different authority would judge it the same. The EU has a pact that the country in which asylum is requested deals with the whole matter. A no in Italy is a no for the whole EU, etc.
The UK is a third country in this matter, so has to deal with each individual asylum request independantly.

And since the UK has signed up to the refugee treaty of 1953 (date off by heart… brain’s not on full speed yet), they are internationally obliged to deal with an asylum request as intended.

“Control your borders!”
You’re advocating an independent Scotland then? An independent Wales. An independent Cornwall. An Independent York.

“ A question based on a lie to the point of flippancy is not a question it’s a lie but I answered it anyway, you then lied again by claiming that I hadn’t addressed your question based on a lie.
They are not being rejected by EU nations they were always heading to the UK based on a plethora of preferential factors none of which imply that the UK is objectively better than say, Germany, France or the Netherlands who all have their own migrants to deal with.
There you go captain obtuse, it’s on my clipboard give me a shout if you need it pasted again.

They aren't? I cannot fathom where you get this idea. Are you, perhaps, still watching Andrew Neill?

Seems like a completely improbable and weak response to me.

People are “fleeing” was said earlier. Why would anyone flee the EU? It’s a wonderful welcoming community, no?

They are leaving France, they leaving the EU to get to the UK.
They have either been rejected by the EU counties or haven’t bothered applying to them.

What lie?

Others here are claiming they have been rejected by the EU.
Dear me you guys need to get your stories aligned.

The facts are that people are risking their lives to leave France. They will have left all the other EU counties they passed through in order to get to France, to get to a squalid camp at Calais.

Either they have been rejected by those EU countries, or they see the UK as being a place which is a far better country in which to settle that they are willing to risk their lives to get here.

It’s quite simple.

The “so” is all the “why” questions I’ve asking throughout this thread.

But I can see what you’re trying to do 🙂
