@zahlanzi saidWell, thanks for your reply. Here is what determines what I believe and who I support .. truth and peace. Hamas and the Palestinians represent the opposite of that. Maybe you remember some of my comments in the days of the PLO and Yasser Arafat... he was a man of peace. Of course he did not let the Jews push him around but his overall goal was peaceful co-existence between the two warring parties. A man like that will have my support. Hamas is after the death of all the Jews as they have clearly stated in their charter. You support that murderous killer instinct if you like and rile up yourself about those who dont, that your choice. Go in peace 😀
"I have an opinion that may have changed over the years because one side keeps getting more and more powerful and the other, weaker and weaker."
One side gets billions of dollars in aid from the biggest military power on the planet and the other side... doesn't.
"Why you support the weaker side,"
The weaker side deserves support, the stronger side, the bully doesn't
...[text shortened]... you correctly. But since you assure me what you're saying here is genuine, you may go fuk yourself.
@rajk999 saidThe Vietnamese were losing...until they won.
Yeah .. funny how the losing side making demands. That cracks me up. They cant even lose properly. There is a report that about 5% of their bombs falling right there on Gaza neighbourhoods. They dont care about their own lives. These people need some psychiatric evaluation.
@rajk999 saidThose rockets were a result of a breakdown in ‘normal’ relations, that takes two sides just like any other tango. Or do you think that the Palestinians thought “we haven’t got much on today why don’t we fire some rockets at them Israelis because that usually ends quite well for us”.
Not at all doubting that he may have had an ulterior motive, but even without one, he cannot sit by and let all those frockets enter Israel.
The Israeli government know that Hamas cannot, or will not ignore provocation but they quite happily provoked them, just as Hamas know that Israel cannot, or will not ignore rocket fire.
@athousandyoung saidAre you seriously comparing a war in which the US lost interest, with one where the Jews very existence is at stake?
The Vietnamese were losing...until they won.
@kevcvs57 saidWell Hamas said, keep out of Al-Aqsa otherwise will will fire rockets. You have until xx-xx-xx to comply. So the deadline came, and they had to fire otherwise they would look stupid. It has nothing to do with anything else. Nothing to do with Sheikh Jarrah. Otherwise Hamas would have said, get out of Sheikh Jarrah by xx-xx-xx otherwise ....... blah blah blah.

Hamas was just bored of peace lasting so long. Peace with an enemy you have vowed publicly to kill and destroy and remove from existence is not an option. Peace means that the Jews are winning.
@rajk999 saidThe Jews' very existence is not at stake. The two sides are squabbling over the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Palestinians' right to property.

@athousandyoung saidThose are superficial issues. There are deeper ones
The Jews' very existence is not at stake. The two sides are squabbling over the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Palestinians' right to property.
Have you read the Hamas Charter?
Have you read what were the reasons for Palestinians not accepting the initial partition plan of 1947?
Have a read and then we will talk.
@rajk999 said
Apparently today Hamas made two demands for a cease fire
1. Stay out of Al-Aqsa Mosque
2. Get out of Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in East Jerusalem
I guess the bombs will continue flying.
@rajk999 saidwhat the fuk are you talking about? Isreal has billions of dollars of support from the US. It has an anti-missile defense system able to shut down most of whatever hamas throws at them.
Are you seriously comparing a war in which the US lost interest, with one where the Jews very existence is at stake?
Israel's existence hasn't been in danger since like the 70's. What Israel has done however is take whatever attack Hamas, a terrorist organization, does and do several times worse on the Palestinian population as revenge. It constantly strips rights away from palestinians, it forces them to live in what is effectively an open prison, with like 50% unemployment.
The palestinians are effectively living in an apartheid state.
This is why I believe you're trolling. The talking point that Israel is fighting for its survival hasn't been used in decades by anyone having even a moderate education on the subject. So you must be trolling because the alternative is that your are that stupid. And nobody is that stupid, right?
I think I've changed my stance on something. I've previously said that Israel was completely justified in it's retaliation (within limits).
However: given that the Palestinian government is controlled by a terrorist organization, I have to back down from that statement. This isn't really a conflict between Palestine and Israel, it's between one specific faction and Israel. When I say this, I'm referring specifically to rocket attacks.
Terrorist organizations don't care if their own fellow citizens, including women and children, get destroyed by enemy fire. If they cared about their fellow Palestinians, Hamas wouldn't continually to needlessly provoke an attack that they've already seen has resulted in heavy casualties to their own people, multiple times. The latest attack from Hamas is nothing more than a terrorist organization trying to be taken seriously for threats.
Hamas opposed the Oslo Accord despite Palestinians being in favor peace; Hamas continued their pledge to destroy Israel despite knowing it resulted in UN aid being cut off from it's own people.
Israel's response would be like wiping out someone's entire family because one relative attacked you.
@zahlanzi saidBias and stupidity is written all over your post. Bias because while you speak of the US support of Israel, you conveniently omit Hamas's financial and military support from Iran and Turkey which is significant. Both sides get support.

Stupidity - You are underestimating Hamas and their resolve as stated in their charter to kill the Jews. Israel would be foolish if they became complacent and lackadaisical like you. People in this forum have said that Hamas is right to want to Kill the Jews and that that Iran has nukes and could give it to Hamas to finish off the Jews.
You are like a stupid woman who after her husband threatens to kill her, goes to the police and is satisfied with a protection order. Thankfully Israel is not as stupid as you appear to be.
@vivify saidThats the fault of the Palestinians.
