Israel definitely has to answer hard questions about the war and the entire settlement situation. This situation is the result of decades of right wing government there.
I saw it up close and personal when we lived in Jerusalem.

Israel has some rationale to treat Gazan's like they do but for instance, I saw up close what they left Palestinians the water from the Jordan river, Israel took 99% of the water and what was left was not even good enough to wash your feet much less grow crops and to that end the US made a 100 million dollar red sea desalination plant for the Palestinians but that was not Israel who did that.
Don't get me wrong, I have dear friends in Israel, we lived there for years and played folk music all over Israel besides working as a contractor at Intel in Jerusalem.

They have to be shown it is in the interest of peace to conduct themselves civilly and the same with Israel. There should be a two state solution with oversight seeing how the Palestinians put in writing and actions about hating Jews and killing them.
And the same with Israel. Do you think, for instance, it was ok for the Israeli's to summarily kick out Palestinians from their lands, take over their houses and build the settlements on formerly Palestinian territory?
What would you think if Mexico decided to cut into our borders and build settlements in the US? Or if Canada did the same, take over land in say Montana on the border, take over a few miles of it and build a new town there? That ok?
