I think by unpopular you mean politically conservative candidates who are risk averse and only want to tweak the system. I wouldn’t disagree but it seems as if the US electorate feels the same way or at least they did until 2016 and the normally fiscal conservative GOP went all culture war on americas ass and enthroned Donald out of sheer spite and frustration.
It’s definitely time for a Bernie Sanders but still not sure that enough voters are ready for actual change.

Her health plan (private) should take care of that.
Just keep the laws put in by the religious zealots out of it.

You have been told time and time again that it isn't just women who forget to take birth control pills who get abortions.

At this point you are might as well just carry an "i am stupid and proud of it" sign around your neck.
Little girls abused by their fathers don't get birth control pills. Women who want to get pregnant and later find out their pregnancy is putting their lives in danger didn't get birth control pills. Women who find out their fetus has a defect and it will die anyway didn't want birth control pills. Rape victims didn't get birth control pills.

For all these people, abortion is the only medical procedure they have left and the only medical procedure they need.

Also, women who forget to take birth control pills and want an abortion because fuk you religious freaks, they are free individuals and nobody should be able to deprive them of their freedom just to carry a pregnancy they don't want to term. If nobody can force you to donate even as little as blood in a procedure that lasts 5-10 minutes, you damn well cannot force a human to give up their body for 9 months.
