@shallow-blue saidSo, if you lived in TX,, would you go to a Mexican doctor for med treatment.....at a hospital in Mexico?
I have decided. I don't believe a word of it.
If you fellers do answer questions as you imply, why can't you or Zahlanzi answer this one? I have to get to church!!
I bet I already know what the sermon will not be about: Matthew 6:19-24.
If you lived in Texas, would you go to Mexico for med care?
No, only honest ...[text shortened]... s" refuse to pick between stupidity and idiocy. It's not honest, Joe. It's not a Christian practice.
@averagejoe1 saidThe only answer to that question is that the question is not honest. Anyone who answers either "yes" or "no" to that question is a patsy to Trump.
So, if you lived in TX,, would you go to a Mexican doctor for med treatment.....at a hospital in Mexico?
@averagejoe1 saidThen why should we give an answer?
I did not say I was asking an honest question....
@shallow-blue saidI can be silly too. Why?!? Why should I pay for someone else's abortion? Why should I pay off a loan that another person swore in writing that he would pay off?
Then why should we give an answer?
We are killing y'all in the debates, gentlemen. This was the easiest that I have won, beating Shallow Blue.
Why do I win all the time? I simply apply logic, with a pinch of common sense and a dash of rationale.
@AverageJoe1
The answer to that is you don't see all the way through. We are losing an intellectual battle with China. I don't suppose that means much to the likes of you but it means the future is China if we don't catch up and one way is to help out their student loans, we get payback in having Americans in US research labs so they can come up with OUR tech surprises as well but I guess you don't see too far in the future, much past your next financial chart page.
And even in the arts, a musician, dancer, painter, whatever, when they have the best training and not having to pick Einstein or Joe the Plumber as his physics coach because he or she does not have the money for big Al so the poor stay poor and not able to rise to the top of their ability because of lack of advanced learning.
You claim to play some instrument or other, doesn't that side of you want US arts to excel?
@sonhouse saidWhy not forgive credit card debt too?
@AverageJoe1

There are all sorts of debt.
Is it because it is not fair to people who did not go in debt? If you knew your credit card would be paid by government in the end you would have used your credit card more, wouldn't you?
@Metal-Brain
You don't get it. Credit card debt is for food, gas, utilities, TV, internet cell phone bills and such student loans are for future goals of intellectual use in tech, mech, arts, med. We NEED those future folks and the student loan partial forgiveness is a targeted use of money for future benefit and it works. The intelligent ones stay if they don't have 200 thou in student loans to pay off, they can be more concentrated on their particular career path, whatever that is.
@sonhouse saidNo, you don't get it. College is too expensive. That is the problem and forgiving debt will not solve it. Students agreed to that debt and those that saw it was too much of a burden declined to go to college. It is not fair to them.

If you are going to subsidize education do it before people borrow the money so smart people go to college too. The people who took on too much debt are the dumb people. You want to reward dumb people for going to college, not smart people. The people who realized it was too much of a financial burden are the smart people. Those are the people who should be in college.
@Metal-Brain
Wow, Mr obvious. College is too expensive, no shyte sherlock. And how do you suggest we go about cutting the cost of education here in the US? Seems like it is institutionally deep now, like a dude in a barrel over Niagra.
We are not talking about a trillion dollars a year for that but you make it sound like it is busting the budget. It turns out smarter folks than you have figured all that out like adults in the room and know how to do it without raising too much fuss about it.
And what you think is irrelevant anyway and there is ZERO you can do about it, so why not just go on to the NEXT conspiracy theory, eh. That is your real joy in life.
@sonhouse saidStop sending 1.5 billion every month to Ukraine and subsidize education costs before people borrow money. Government could make the loans interest free, but you would rather give the money to the military industrial complex so Ukraine can send people to die in war.

Your priority is funding a proxy war instead.
@sonhouse saidDiscussions are touchy when you a socialist, and I a Capitalist, try to figure things out. Like, picking student loans to 'help people out'. A street person cant even GET a loan, they starve, but no help for them, as the money has to pay off another person's debt? You libs refer to the debt as a touchy-feely looooaaan, but after it was a loan, it became a debt.
@AverageJoe1

And Kamala yesterday said to give financial help to hurricane victims in an equitable way, to to the more needy and people of color. People of color? The woman wants to use racism to give financial aid. The gist of your comment is that the world should be perfect, and it can only be so by spreading the wealth around, as Marxist Obama put it.
Yep, we are miles apart. Have you ever received money from the government? Thought so. It could not feel good, living on a plantation. Have you ever thought that college is not for everybody? You will say everyone should go to college next. No, they shouldn't. You are an idealist, can't put much bread on the table. As to excelling in the Arts, there are scholarships for same, and as much as I like the Arts, I feel for poor people more, and there is not enough money to cover both the aspiring artists and the poor people, we have 40M of them.
You think I don't see far into the future,,,,,that is all I think about. Tell me, do you see it rosy, Sonhouse? Do you know what is going on? You libs like to say how much Trump spent, ignoring the spending of the ones before him, which was commonplace, and for gods sake, Sonhouse, ignoring what Biden is spending today. Did you hearabout the Half Trillion to pay off student loans? Its true. Unbelievable, Google it. You can write all that stuff, but when rubber meets the road, The NATIONAL debt will kill us all.
@averagejoe1 saidWhy should I pay for the police to protect YOUR property, why should I pay more tax than I need to so as to subsidise the super rich and low corporation tax?
I can be silly too. Why?!? Why should I pay for someone else's abortion? Why should I pay off a loan that another person swore in writing that he would pay off?

In case you haven’t figured it out yet Joe that’s how capitalism works, I pay for the infrastructure that corporations use to make your fat dividend payment and you pay for my abortion if your corporation is not laying me enough for me to foot my own medical bills including the abortion that I need so as not to end up on welfare because I cannot work due to parental responsibilities.
You really don’t understand capitalism do ya Joe?
@metal-brain saidLiberals shield and camouflage the word student debt by calling it a loan, It was a loan on the date that the promissory note was dated, say. 6/2/17. The next day, this erstwhile student woke up in debt, which he voluntary made on himself.
Why not forgive credit card debt too?

So it is a debt. A credit card balance is a debt as well. MB is back in my humble good graces. I feel that in the end I will bring you all around.
