@spruce112358 saidWell what about you Spruce? Got your MAGA hat yet?
Not talking about him. I'm talking about the Mises Caucus coup in 2022. The leader of that coup - McArdle - invited Trump.
Libertarians are open-minded? 😆
I've rarely seen a group with more litmus-tests.
@spruce112358 saidYou specifically said libertarians a day after they had trump speak, now you're saying it was a reference to something no one remembers from two years ago? How were we supposed to know that?

No, Libertarians are not open-minded, they just like to think they are.

@Sleepyguy saidLibertarians, even right wing ones, won't consider a Trump victory a "win".
Open mindedness was not on display. A bunch of booing whiny babies IMO. Trump was pretty funny in the face of it. He says you should vote for me, only if you wanna win though, or you could just keep getting your 3% of the vote. He wasn't wrong.
@no1marauder saidHeadlines say there was some division but generally he was heckled and booed.

@Wajoma saidThat's the way they are, claiming they support free speech while shouting down anyone with an opposing view.
Headlines say there was some division but generally he was heckled and booed.
@no1marauder saidYes, it seems they would prefer to continue not mattering.

@Cliff-Mashburn said"How were we supposed to know that?" I tried to be clear with the OP Title: "Libertarians Hacked By MAGA (2022)"

No, Libertarians are not open-minded, they just like to think they are.
Inviting Trump to speak this year was a result they've been building towards - all the while driving Libertarians like me and Nick Sarwark away.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidThere's a difference between heckling/booing and using the force of the state to censor.
That's the way they are, claiming they support free speech while shouting down anyone with an opposing view.
Trumps not a libertarian, you're not a libertarian, shag doody is not a libertarian.
@Sleepyguy saidIf US Libertarians just want to support right wing Republicans, they should dissolve the party.
Yes, it seems they would prefer to continue not mattering.
@Sleepyguy saidThey would prefer to not veer from the NIOF principle. Trump got needled and gave a little jab about the 3% results. If they're so inconsequential why did he even bother going?
Yes, it seems they would prefer to continue not mattering.
@no1marauder saidThere are probably some who might support Joe 'salute the marines' biden.
If US Libertarians just want to support right wing Republicans, they should dissolve the party.
There are many staunch Libertarians among their number, and the party is there to stay much to the chagrin of the US control freaks and so called socialist libertarians.
@no1marauder saidJust take their ball and go home in a huff? Why not just accept the reality that only a Democrat or Republican will win, and join one of those parties and try to influence it? Trump offered that explicitly and got booed for it. Kudos to him for trying. Too bad they're a bunch of prima donnas.
If US Libertarians just want to support right wing Republicans, they should dissolve the party.
@Sleepyguy said?Voting for Trump means the LP would no longer matter - which is the goal of the current LP leadership, AFAIK.
Yes, it seems they would prefer to continue not mattering.
@spruce112358 saidThey already don't matter! That's the whole point! SMH
