@no1marauder saidThat's unfortunate since he clearly murdered the man once he was incapacitated.
It's highly unlikely the shooter will be charged.
The person shot was not a "convicted murderer" though he was convicted of robbery in 2015.
@athousandyoung saidBut if you live on the border and some guys break into your house, from Yemen or Iran, wherever, (there are 130 countries crossing, look it up) would you not shoot hell out of them? I would probably literally be thinking 'I hope this doesn't wake the baby' when I started pumping bullets.
Guns are that cheap?
Maybe I'll get me one. But I won't keep the thing anywhere near ammo in my home. It would be for recreation not killing people.
@jj-adams saidFour shots, in the back. This is heroic? Then executing the prostrate man with a point-blank head shot. This is self-Defence? No, and no again. It’s vigilantism run amok.
Then delivers a head shot.
The video is hilarious, I hope they give him a medal.

@averagejoe1 saidI don't have a baby and if I did I would be terrified an accident would kill the baby far more than I would be concerned about burglars. I also don't own a home.

An Ohio man shot and killed his 16-year-old daughter inside their family home on Wednesday after mistaking her for an intruder.
@athousandyoung saidSo did Rittenhouse, but generally in these cases if the initial shooting is justified in self-defense fact finders give the shooters the benefit of the doubt if they keep firing.
That's unfortunate since he clearly murdered the man once he was incapacitated.
@no1marauder saidI don't remember Rittenhouse walking over to a man lying on his face on the ground and firing multiple execution style shots at the back of the man's head.

EDIT
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenosha_unrest_shooting
Joseph Rosenbaum, a 36-year-old unarmed Kenosha man, chased Rittenhouse into a parking lot and grabbed the barrel of his rifle. Rittenhouse shot Rosenbaum four times at close range.[5][6][7] Rittenhouse fled and was pursued by a crowd.[3] Anthony Huber, a 26-year-old-resident of Silver Lake, was fatally shot once in the chest by Rittenhouse after he struck Rittenhouse with his skateboard and grabbed Rittenhouse's gun.[8][9] Gaige Grosskreutz, a 26-year-old West Allis man who pointed a handgun at Rittenhouse, was shot by Rittenhouse once in the right arm and survived.
@athousandyoung saidRittenhouse shot Rosenbaum twice in the back as he was falling if memory serves me correctly.

EDIT: The ME testified at the trial that the fatal shot was to Rosenbaum's back.
@no1marauder said"As he was falling" seconds after the first shots followed by running away is not anything near like calmly walking to a man incapacitated on the ground and carefully executing him.

@athousandyoung saidI admit I haven't watched the video - and have no intention of visiting JJ's AmRen site to do so.

@moonbus saidNone of you fellers are giving the shooter an option. Tell use what he should have done...looked like an old-timer to me. I sure couldn't slug somebody, esp a cretin

That is unfortunate as it seems to be the only unedited version available. Twitter makes you sign in to watch it and youtube news stations edit out the relevant part.
Here's how it went down:
As the clip begins (we're looking down from the ceiling camera in the corner aimed at the door) there's one man with a pistol (turns out it was a BB gun, not a real gun) shouting and brandishing his weapon and gathering up peoples' wallets that they threw on the ground while hiding under a table. As he passes one of the diners stealthily unholsters his pistol and when the robber passes him a second time on the way out the diner shoots him in the back. At this time the robber is pointing his gun at a customer near the exit as he prepares to leave. As he passes the diner who has a gun, the diner shoots him in the back, in theory protecting the diner near the door (IMO this could have caused an unintentional discharge by the robber killing the other diner but whatever forget about that).
Four shots in the robber's back before he goes down in the doorway followed by another four as the armed diner walks up to the man on the ground. All shots are within a few seconds of each other but the last four are taken as the diner is standing and walking over to a man face down on the ground not moving. The diner picks up the BB gun and then shoots the burglar in the head at close range a few moments after the first eight while holding the burglar's gun and the burglar face down not moving with eight bullets in his back.
@no1marauder saidI agree. One must consider the adrenalin, the element of surprise, the element of self-preservation, a lot of human split second stuff in a situation you have NEVER been in
