I don't think cracker is offensive, either, but let's face it. Maybe if the word cracker was used for over a hundred years to refer to people whose ancestors were slaves and who until recently were counted as 3/5 of a person, perhaps you'd be a bit pissed when people of another race started calling you that to imply that you were less than them. Cracker doesn't have the hi ...[text shortened]... or 'faggot'? Now I know you're not gay, but what if you were? Would 'faggot' be offensive to you?
Very good observation.
As to fag, it is actually meant to be derogatory. I don’t know that squalw ismeant that way. No I think Fag would be hard to rame if I were gay, but if I were a squaw would be a squalw I think That they are different connotations

Sorry, typed that on the go. meant a squaw should not be offended with that word which is not derogatory in my opinion. But then I looked up squaw and papoose. I stand corrected, the def actually says 'offensive'. Who knew! I guess we have to say that lady over there. Suzianne gets two wins.

Mott is correct. Neither of you get the big picture, knit-picking from one post to the other. Personally, I think you dont like the word squaw because if isn't a 'pretty' sounding name. Good point that papoose isn't pretty , either. Maybe if the name were 'Twillery Garden' you wouldn't get so hot under the collar, and you would quit continually changing definitions of ...[text shortened]... country', but no, you want to restructure this country, ruin it for everyone else. You are doing it.
You are as thick as two short planks or a racist pig.
You’ve been told that First Nation women find it offensive but still your ignorant, stupid halfwitted inbred good ol boy persona insists that it’s not offensive .
Good job whoever tore that piece of racist Americana down. It’s time the US had a fresh start at the melting pot you and yours have uninvited yourself so please leave in an orderly fashion. There’s a good chap.

Told by WHO that First nation women find it offensive? Some media schmuck? Who told him? When did it become offensive? Lately? When Squaw Valley hosted the winter Olympics nobody found it offensive, so when did all the hubbub start? Since squaw is one of their words to begin with, what's the big deal?
I vote we change it to White Winter Wonderland and see if they want to cry about that.

When everyone but you and your gang started listening to First Nation advocates instead of purposely remaining ignorant of their wishes. Have you noticed that it’s your mob who have made a issue if it? Why do you care what some valley is called? Even if only a minority of First Nation people are offended that’s reason enough to change the name and it shouldn’t matter to any other ethnic group, especially not the ethnic group who committed genocidal acts in the name of westward expansion

You suggest that I have researched the feelings of lady Indians about the term squaw. I doubt any of us, except maybe you, to stir the pot, have done that. Usually our debates are about opinions, that was mine, and now I see mine was wrong. Easy does it, Kev. Just threshin' it out here.
Careful about asking repubs and/or conservatives to leave, I believe we pretty much support your government. Settle, man. Do us some good and research the lies of Biden,... that he would not leave Americans behind, that the 3.5T will cost zero, the border is closed, and so forth.
Or, squabble about offensive names. What ever happened with the Atlanta Braves' name?

Yeah, Native Americans should move to another country if they don't like terms that white racists think are hunkydory.

Simple minded racist stereotypes.

If you have sufficient courage and curiosity to see them dashed, try reading (or in your case, someone read to you) this book:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1491:_New_Revelations_of_the_Americas_Before_Columbus
