@shallow-blue saidDid you expect me to get all upset by Mott calling me a cracker? I already said that stupid people can call me a cracker all day long and that level of stupidity doesn't bother me at all. So I went for humor rather than go all full-bore harpy on him because I can't be bothered to get upset by such a lame-ass name. And you call that hypocrisy? Really?
Don't be a hypocrite. That becomes Mott, not you.
@suzianne saidyour hypocrisy is best described as allowing one race to use insulting names describing another race, then getting pissy when the same is applied to you.

@mott-the-hoople saidYou've never been one to actually pay attention to what's going on. You'd rather assume and look stupid, just like Eladar.

@averagejoe1 saidI am only offended by other people being offended by things I (obviously) don't find offensive.
But you see, you suggest that a person of questionable character, for lack of a better description, is a person that would affect (offend) the said segment of America by his actions.
If a guy on a sidewalk hollers at me, You can kiss my butt!!, do you think that I would be offended????? Of course not. Do you see that there is no the difference between him and Kop ...[text shortened]... I would not be offended by either. They are the same.
And why won't you answer this question. ?
What was your question again?
@mott-the-hoople saidI assure you that it doesn't. I'm curious; that's all.
why does it bother you that it bothers dood?
@suzianne saidYou make my point. By not being upset, are you saying not being offended? You are not offended by what someone says or does, it has nothing to do with you.

@wildgrass saidMy question now, how can you possibly be offended by me being offended by things you don't find offensive???
I am only offended by other people being offended by things I (obviously) don't find offensive.
What was your question again?
YOu'll have to decipher that for us before you answer it.
@dood111 saidIt's not insane, it's perfectly right and reasonable to change a name if it offends people, and I think we've established that it does offend people. What's in a name, anyway?
The insanity continues: https://www.kgun9.com/news/national/ski-resort-in-california-changing-name-to-remove-offensive-word
As an aside, here in Indonesia the term 'bule' (pronounced boolay) is used to describe white people. (There are only a handful of us bules living in our province, and we rarely meet) The term is not offensive or intended as such, it's just descriptive, so we're driving along and get a lot of 'Hello bule' from the kids; we smile and wave and they smile and wave back. I love Indonesia....
@averagejoe1 saidI already told you what does offend me about this, I refer you to that post.
You make my point. By not being upset, are you saying not being offended? You are not offended by what someone says or does, it has nothing to do with you.

It's been discussed on this forum before, but those who take to Twitter with their offense tend to be the vocal minority. I remember a Saturday Night Live monologue by Bill Burr that was very funny, but he made jokes about race and gender and so of course a handful of people took to Twitter to express "offense". The next day there were a dozen newspaper articles about how so many people were offended by Bill Burr and they all used the same 5 Tweeter posts to make their point.
Except those 5 people were not representative of the viewing audience of millions. The articles did not do a single interview or follow-up, they just quoted the tweet. This is much more problematic to me than the renaming of Squaw Valley (because, all of us agree, who cares) because Bill Burr is a really funny comedian who earned his right to joke about controversial subjects.
Left and right, snowflakes are a minority group.
