I reply to your post about trump, then you give me a hard time for bringing him up?

He failed. The whole GOP has failed. You describe a past that never existed. Meanwhile you also pretend that there isnt a border security bill sitting on Republican desks right now, they could pass today, that they refuse to vote on. They could fix it but wanna wait and see if the border ...[text shortened]... ared to vote on. Thee authority to regulate immigration lies in Congress. They can fix it but won't.
Should he, or shouglnt he , protect our border, protect us from illegal aliens? DId YOU miss my question as you wrote this tripe.

Maybe trump wants to fix. But he doesn't know how. Can't get it done. Waves his hands and screams like a toddler, nothing happens.

He was president for 4 years remember? Things at the border got worse.
Yes, and they got a lot worse after Trump's term. 6.3 million crossed the border in the last 3 years. Jeeezus.

He can't get it done, wildgrass, if the republicans secretly fight him. Not his fault our congressmen are that corrupt.

Why don't the Republicans in Congress just properly fund the Border Patrol??

Happy to oblige, little feller

While senators said McConnell made clear Thursday he wasn't withdrawing his support for the pact, some insist the party should reject it because it doesn't go far enough in sealing the border. The deal has not been finalized as congressional appropriators work through the funding provisions.

“I want a negotiation that will actually secure the border, where they can’t weasel out of it, they can’t drive a semi-truck through loopholes that are created in it,” Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told reporters. “What Senate leadership hasn’t been able to describe is how the current negotiation, the elements that have been laid out for us, how that actually would work.”

Johnson and a group of GOP senators held a press conference Wednesday blasting the deal, with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who faces re-election this fall, calling it “utterly ineffective in fixing the problem” because it would only partially bring down the numbers of asylum-seekers. He called the deal “a fig leaf that pretends to do border security but doesn’t actually do border security.”

Liberals such as yourself are small thinkers, you never see the big picture.

Congress can fix and refuses. This is a republican problem

You and Sue need to avail yourselves of all the news, spoken by the very republicans who are trying to tell us that the suggested program, which you libs want us to just sign on to willy nilly, is just not going to to do the job.
Why ask the likes of me those questions, I was not in the room during these discussions. Whew.

@AverageJoe1
What are your news sources? Are you not being advised by your talking heads?

the laws are on the books, biden/obama refuse to enforce them.

what do you get out of lying?

Name a specific law regarding immigration that Biden isn't enforcing.

Republicans are saying that partially reducing illegal border crossers is worse than doing nothing? Makes zero sense.

You believe this tripe?

This is the main impasse conservatives have with libs. They harangue all the time about extraneous opinions and thoughts and finger-pointing, never once acknowledging the basic premise of the responsibility of the administration to protect our borders. Biden literally invited them to come here. Which is another thing that they totally ignore when they keep bitching about Republicans.

They will not even reply to this common sense.

That's dumb..the border patrol is overwhelmed and needs more money and resources. Only Congress can provide this.

Trump learned this while he was in office, remember? He couldn't build his wall because Republicans would not give him the money.

I reply over and over but you pretend not to understand. Of course it's illegal to cross the border without permission. The enforcement of that law requires resources that Congress has to allocate.

Republicans whine about this all the time. They appointed someone in the Senate to write a bill with democrats to fix it. They agreed to a plan. They wrote the plan. The Senate passed the plan. It is clear and obvious that this plan would help the border problem.

The only reason Republicans won't discuss or vote is political.

Well the cats out the bag now. The stupid orang-utan directly ordered his MAGA extremists in the house to scupper any attempt to solve the border crisis until after he’s elected, which of course he won’t be, because the general electorate are nothing like as rabidly stupid as the MAGA base.
