Former US president Donald Trump has released a statement on social media after the shooting at his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Trump said that he wants to "thank the United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response." He adds that he wants to "extend his condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured."
Trump comments, "It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead."
He reflected upon the incident, commenting that he was shot with a bullet "that pierced the upper part of his right ear". He says he "knew immediately that something was wrong" when he heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. He adds that "much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening."

@mike69 saidYeah at 150 yards the sound would be greatly diminished, I've seen people claim it was a 5.56, 7.62, who knows? They do make them in 9mm, but 150 yards is a stretch for a pistol cartridge due to velocity loss.

That could be, I just was saying at just 150 yards, that is deer hunting season distance and the shooter would be using optics. There have been sniper kills at a mile distance.
Don't see how the shooter could have missed unless it was deliberate.
But let’s consider what you’re suggesting here; Trump organised a shooter to make a FAKE assassination attempt, and the shooter was so good that he could nick Trump’s ear at 150 yards.
That is what you’re suggesting right?

I've already seen left whingers trying to float the shooting was a staged photo op and that the ...[text shortened]... mouth agape or falling off his bike, and I'm sick of seeing pictures of him tripping up the stairs.

If it was a piece of glass, I heard the teleprompter got wacked, that could be what actually hit Trump but that means the shooter missed him by a mile. Just doesn't make sense. Like I said, there have been sniper kills from a mile away.
