Check Europe... it's the same thing I am saying for NAFTA region.

And excuse me, but here in Finland the fact that we are in Europe
does not mean that I leave my door open, man.

At least the government has not informed me about it.
Lets not pretend that one-third of the countries in the EU are of Mexican caliber.

Each country has big advantages and disadvantages, and they

Each country would put to the common their best, and the 3 of them
would fight against the whole Union's flaws.

Mexico has a huge, hardworking work force and vast natural resources.
Mexico can't even fight against it's own flaws, how is it going to help out the other two countries?

Don't get me wrong, I welcome people form Mexico, They just should have to fill out the paperwork.

legalization hasn't done much for alcohol abuse here in the states... do you think it will be different for drugs?

Part II of the equation: Destroy the profit margin.

People are going to drink and use drugs anyways. What you want is to destroy the criminality involved.

Criminals will find something else illegal to do... and drugs are what I want gone.

You can't get rid of drugs. End of story.
The policies being used have only increased their value, increased crime and made a couple of people very rich and powerful (not to mention insurance companies).

Until you understand this, you're not going to destroy the criminality involved.

Look at it this way: If you destroy the profit margins, people aren't going to be actively pushing drugs in nightclubs and schoolyards, because it won't be worth their while.

I am not sure you understand... do you think that people will not make money selling a legal product that they are addicted to? Have you looked at philip morris or kraft lately to see how much they do in sales?

And look at the profit margins on this products.
Then compare those profit margins to those on drugs.
And there you have your answer.

And yes, this means government control of drug sales.

In the Netherlands you can only buy alcohol in supermarkets, snackbars and special alcohol outlets (and bars..obviously).

Soft drugs are only sold in coffee shops.

And the Dutch have way less alcohol and drug problems than the US and the UK...

I'll tell you what though...

See if I care! 🙂

You want to keep the drug spiral as it is, feel free to do so. Don't forget, the harder you clamp down on drugs, the more they'll become worth, the more people will want to actively push them.

And that's entertainment... and capitalism for you.

Well, I suppose if you don't count all the coffee shops being full of stoners as a drug problem, then I would have to say that you're correct.

Illegally only.
That's where all the crime is too... coincidence?

But, the old myth of soft drugs leading to hard drugs has been completely dispelled here in Holland. By seperating the dealers of both, one suddenly doesn't lead to the other.
