I just read the article on Shavs thread, is that the one you're talking about? If so, don't worry, that kind of stuff happens all the time, if it's not Poland using WWII to try to gain leverage (they wanted a larger vote, despite the treaty stipulating a very fair system according to population size), it's France complaining about Turkey, or everyone complaining about France and Germany just because they're bigger than everyone else.
It doesn't represent real friction, just politicians doing what they do.

Correction: the average American doesn't want to do that work at the wages that illegal aliens are being paid. They want at least minimum wage and health care benefits. They want their children to be educated. They don't want to live in a tarpaper shack because they're not being paid enough to live in an apartment and pay rent and utilities. It isn't the job that people don't want; it's the substandard wages and working conditions.
