We can all stipulate the role of the justices as same pertains to the Constitution. That is what they did in Roe, resulting in their findings and decision.
So, very specifically, why are the people who don't work picketing for bounties, ....what was the justices' offense to warrant bounties?
I am not being glib. Truly, what is the deal? Assuming that everyone respects law, that is. Those who want to change the law, that is fine, but I am talking about today, this decision.
@averagejoe1 saidThey took away a basic right of bodily autonomy for 1/2 of the country's population?

@no1marauder saidcant find that in my reading of the US constitution…can you point it out?
They took away a basic right of bodily autonomy for 1/2 of the country's population?
@no1marauder saidTHEY didn't do that, the individual states did.

@mott-the-hoople saidI realize that you don't understand the political philosophy this country was founded on, but they even went out of their way in the Ninth Amendment to tell you that rights don't have to be mentioned in the Constitution to be rights.
cant find that in my reading of the US constitution…can you point it out?
Still, right wingers like yourself are too stupid to understand that.
@ron-desantis saidSure, when States deliberately pass laws in violation of precedent hoping that a SCOTUS majority will overrule it.
Why was Roe vs Wade even brought up and reviewed and subsequently changed?
Is that a standard procedure?
@jj-adams saidMy wording was poor; of course, neither the SCOTUS nor the States can actually "take away" our rights, which are inalienable.
THEY didn't do that, the individual states did.
What the SCOTUS did was allow States to pass penal laws against abortion thus putting legal imprimatur on a gross violation of the right to liberty, specifically that of bodily autonomy. But the right remains even if tyrannical governments violate it.
@shavixmir saidYou compare the US with the Middle-East Islamic states of pain and torture?
One only needs to look at which countries have abortion banned and which don't.
And it's rather obvious the US is up there with the religious extremists in the Middle-East.
Well at least we don't stone women to death for being raped or make them wear horse-blankets from head to toe, with a mesh mask over their face, because they are like, so unclean and evil and stuff..
@Ron-DeSantis
That would be because it had nothing to do with law or jurisprudence, it had EVERYTHING to do with the fact they were Trump appointees who were well known to be extreme right wingers AND beholden to the ultraright religious right.
This was a 100% response to 50 years of ultraright wing religious faction that gained control of at LEAST 1/3 of the entire government and they are working hard to take over the other 2/3. They already have the senate bogged down by Moscow Mitch stopping ANYTHING written by dems no matter WHAT the issue,
The extremely weak gun control bill was so watered down so even Moscow Mitch could support it but it didn't even go as far as raising the age of ownership to 21 like it should be.
@no1marauder saidI dont usually hahahahahahah but this takes the cake. The Marauder is saying that Supreme Court Justices 'do not understand the political philosophy ......

@shavixmir saidIf you call us religious extremists, may we call you abortion extremists.....the bloody kind?

@averagejoe1 saidNo, I said Mott doesn't.

These SCOTUS justices probably do understand it; they just oppose it.
@AverageJoe1
No, we are CALLING you out for wanting to control woman's right to choose their own health needs no matter abortion or not. You want YOURSELF to have full privacy rights but when it comes to women, LOCKEMUP, the BITCHES couldn't keep their legs closed so it is OBVIOUSLY their fault they are pregnant and we don't care if they abort the first time they knew they were pregnant, there are not enough people on the planet and believe me, Earth needs more people.
I also imagine laws being written to make it illegal for women to even have their tubs tied because of above.
Is that about it?
