@no1marauder saida scotus justice is to decide the law as written...philosophy doesnt play a part. you veer off into mind reading
Read the "Declaration of Independence" thread. In it, Mott made clear he doesn't understand the Founders' and Framers' political philosophy.
Mott is stupid though; I'm assuming those who get to the SCOTUS aren't as stupid as Mott - certainly they should have been exposed to the relevant history and philosophy if they graduated from law school.
@mott-the-hoople saidReally, you libs are all panty-wadded up. Abortion is, tonight, legal in this country. You should start each of your threads with that sentence, so we are all on the same page. Don't start posts with a lie. Suzianne, would you say something to them, no one listens to me.
the US hasnt banned abortion...study up, it will keep you from appearing ignorant
@sonhouse saidThere is so much creativity and new thoughts to ponder on the threads!!!!
@Ron-DeSantis
Amendments correct for changes because we are 200 years beyond the original but hey, any change is no good for you. You would own slaves if it was still legal.
Hand grenades were not around 200 years ago and so not in the constitution so should an 18 yo be able to buy those too?
@suzianne saidPeople usually write stuff like you are writing here when you have no comeback to the post,,,,,my post. Was I wrong, Suzianne??? Why don't you say I am wrong, and tell me why.
Stupid people often laugh at stuff they don't understand.
It's usually called "saving face".
This is a debate, we are not writing jokes for SNL. Respond to my point?
@no1marauder saidI'll put this in my journal.
Abortions were common in the 18th Century as were restrictions on open carrying of firearms except in militia service.
"During the colonial period, the legality of abortion varied from colony to colony and reflected the attitude of the European country which controlled the specific colony. In the British colonies abortions were legal if they were performed prior to qui ...[text shortened]... ved-85364#:~:text=In%20fact%2C%20most%20colonies%20adopted,to%20travel%20with%20concealed%20weapons.
@sonhouse saidIf all repubs go there, how will you fellers support yourselves? You are aware that you need us a lot more than we need you. We do need you, for fixing our computers, though.
@Suzianne
Maybe just make Texas a big reservation just for repubs and make THEM march there and live there then let them succeed from the Union, maybe Mexico would take them over......
@wildgrass saidYou suggest that it should list every possibility? It is a 'Go-By', slanthead. It sure has worked for a long time. What is it about today which makes it such an issue. Lib-related issues, or Con-related issues?
Amazing what else isn't in there too.
@mott-the-hoople saidHell, they want the SCOTUS to take information and suggestions from the populace!!!! I kid you not.
a scotus justice is to decide the law as written...philosophy doesnt play a part. you veer off into mind reading
@mott-the-hoople saidAgain, the Ninth Amendment reiterates a principle that the Founders and Framers accepted i.e. that you didn't need to put a right into a written document for that right to belong to the People. The DOI makes clear that such rights are "inalienable" i.e. unable to be taken or given away by their possessor.

What part of this don't you understand?
@jj-adams saidNa, just one in five women in the US are physically, mentally or sexually abused in the home.
You compare the US with the Middle-East Islamic states of pain and torture?
Well at least we don't stone women to death for being raped or make them wear horse-blankets from head to toe, with a mesh mask over their face, because they are like, so unclean and evil and stuff..
Women have less rights to their own bodies than any women in Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many Asian countries.
The US has the highest prison population in the world.
And your street violence and mass shootings seem to be a bit of an issue too.
More like Beirut than Lyon, me thinks.
@averagejoe1 saidAre there women in the US who can’t get an abortion in local health institutions?
Really, you libs are all panty-wadded up. Abortion is, tonight, legal in this country. You should start each of your threads with that sentence, so we are all on the same page. Don't start posts with a lie. Suzianne, would you say something to them, no one listens to me.
Are there laws in place to criminalise women who do get an abortion?
Uhuh.
There you go.
@AverageJoe1
Yeah, right. Guess what. We actually recognize sarcasm when it is puked out.
BTW, those rightwingers on SCOTUS are just beginning their drive to kill the idea of separation of church and state.
80% and more cases involving CHRISTIAN religions are voted yes by those basturds, but notice not Hindu, not Jewish, not Islam, ONLY Christian suites are voted YES.
They are such flaming hypocrites, in their confirmation hearings there was not a HINT of any religious bias but now it is out in the open.
They don't want to go back to 1950, they want to go back to EIGHTEEN FIFTY.
The dark days have already started in the US.
One nice note though, one abortion doctor is making a FLOATING abortion clinic, safely out in international waters where no fukking state laws can stop them.
@shavixmir saidYour statement is quite broad. If it is banned in Idaho, then it wojld be breaking the law to get an abortion in Idaho. You fellers are a broken record.
Are there women in the US who can’t get an abortion in local health institutions?
Are there laws in place to criminalise women who do get an abortion?

Women can get an abortion in (local health or somewhere) where it is allowed by law.
You libs have a REAL hard time with law.
