@wajoma saidshavmixler doesnt seem to understand that his off color remarks make him look foolish.
Does not address the point as to what a 'right' is, or technically what is wrong with the def I posted. You tried to power up your post with an insult and it actually had the opposite effect.
many people that feel their point of view is weak will try to embellish with with big words or swear words.
People laugh at you shavmixler, not with you.

@athousandyoung saidI was responding to the thread. Not you, I never wrote to Jimmm693 either. And, Self importance does not bode well on the Forum.
Why are you responding to my thread? You blacklisted me remember?
Are you suggesting that the policies of the 1890s regarding the homeless were ideal and we should return to those policies?
How bout you be a big boy and tell us if homelessness remedies will include illegal immigrants on our streets. Your threads never begin with a complete premise.
@shavixmir saidI got my 11-year old to look up the wording of 25, she could not find where it says everyone has the right to anything. Could you be be more honest, so that we will continue to read your loser posts?
Article 25
Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
Suck my anus, you retard.
Or elaborate, tell all the citizens where the free housing is....and since you say everyone, tell all the illegals where the free housing is?
Oh, and this should be fun. You libs think that the literal interpretation of 'Welfare' as stated in the Constitution is, is is,,,,,,well, what is it, Shavixmir?
A true loser, you may be #1 loser. At least you are #1 something.

@athousandyoung said1) Fewer people. The federal government can reform our immigration policy to allow fewer entrants per year, and crack down on businesses who hire undocumented workers. This will help a lot to ease the housing crisis.
Leftists blame government for the homeless problem, but so do conservatives! Notice that the California and San Francisco governments are constantly being blamed for the homeless epidemic in San Francisco and the rest of CA. This implies the government should be intervening but right wingers are also constantly trying to "drown the government in the bathtub" as Grover ...[text shortened]... sibility does the government have for homelessness? How much government intervention is appropriate?
2) More houses. Most economic studies show that we are 5 million houses short here in the USA> Open the floodgates to building permits for low cost, high density housing units. Ignore residents of neighborhoods who don't want new housing. This will reduce cost of purchasing a house and relieve a lot of pressure on those who can't afford rent.
Probably neither of these two things will happen in my lifetime. Politicians are too calcified and voters don't really care about anything other than party affililiation.

@wildgrass saidNo. 1???? Less immigrants? Duh. Where you been, man? But no wall, huh. God you people are so waffley on the Forum.

Wildgrass would like to keep the foxes out of his chicken coop, but he does not want to put up any wire around the chicken coop.
If someone ever asked me the difference in libs and conservatives, I would simply say logic, common sense, and rationale.
Oh, and penchant for good debating.

Issues with undocumented immigrants can be easily addressed with harsh penalties on businesses who hire them. Problem solved. Then we just need to address what to do with legal immigrant numbers.

@wildgrass saidYes, para 2 would be a good start, no question, but it has been discussed in many circles, to no avail. YOUR man Biden can be thanked for that. Every illegal who has wanted to get in....has gotten in. Even the terrorists. So , I guess the solution should be .....harsher?

Yes I have heard of an airplane, but do not get what you mean by asking me that.
@averagejoe1 saidBuilding a wall will not fix the problem.

The largest source of undocumented immigrants have come here through legal means and then overstayed their Visas.
Why? They stay for economic reasons. 7.6 million undocumented persons have gainful employment in the USA. It would be really easy for our government to prevent those persons from getting jobs. They should immigrate legally to be employed.

@wildgrass saidI am stuck on your first sentence....... A wall won't work? Today? I am talking about today, wildgrass. What illegal (undocumented!!) immigrant aliens, and legal ones for that matter, have done up to now is irrelevant. It is May, 2023.

So, starting today, do you think a wall, with an attended gate every 15 miles, would help with our tremendous problems? These people are tearing up South TX, please hurry.

@averagejoe1 saidRight now - today - there are a lot more immigrants overstaying their visas than crossing the border on foot.

https://www.sightline.org/2019/11/22/california-homeowners-have-20-uninhabited-bedrooms-for-every-homeless-person
California’s colossal housing shortage is made worse, ACCE said, by the fact that several hundred thousand units are empty and currently unavailable for sale or rental. In at least some cases, that’s probably because their owners plan to ride the wave of rising prices that the state’s long-term shortage will continue to induce. The report and ACCE’s accompanying campaign emphasize the horrifying fact that Los Angeles in particular has more “non-market vacant” units than there are Angelenos experiencing homelessness on any given night.
The above suggests that the government defending vacant investment properties is causing homelessness.

@averagejoe1 saidIf homelessness were remedied nobody would be living on the streets.

@athousandyoung saidI agree. But the thing California has done wrong is not build enough housing.
You all keep going on and on about immigration but you cannot blame the State of CA or the city of SF for immigration.
