How do we decide who lives where? In regards to the Middle East it seems as if racial and religious/historical feuding has taken the place of birthright and humanism.
1) Who on this forum thinks that the Jews claim to the Holy Land is legitmate based on 2000 years of historical/racial ties and 'special religious significance' ?
2) Who on this forum thinks that if you are born in a country and have a connection to the land that is based on actually living there then this overrides any religious/ racial consideration?
I'll give you a little clue here- one of these answers is embedded in a modern 21st Century concept of human rights , dignity and multiculturalism. The other concept is embedded in a history of religious hatred and racism and has parallels with Nazi Germany amongst others.

I happen to think that it's self evident that we don't decide these things on racial or religious grounds anymore after having fought a world war to defeat this type of thinking, but there you go. If you find my poll one sided its probably because you are aware of the ovewhelming power of this argument. I assume that you are aware of the ideology behind the formation of Israel or do you still subscribe to the naive view that it was a well meaning project by the UN?

Does someone else make these type decisions for you?
10,000 Mexicans are gathering at the border right now waiting for the sun to go down .. they've decided they want to live somewhere else.
Israel is a Country because people decided to make it so about 60 yrs ago.
A bunch of other people don't like that idea at all so they've been fighting over it ever since.
Until someone can take it away from them .. the issue has been decided.
