That applies to the USA. We didn't stop with Afghanistan which lead to Iraq. That lead to invading Libya, more and more murder. So basically you are saying nobody stops at one invasion and Putin is unremarkable in that respect. Nobody stops after the first invasion. Right?

Yeah if you count Chechnya and Syria this is probably Putin’s 4th maybe 5th invasion. None of the US “invasions” you cited had any relation to each other Putin on the other hand has been creeping west and this is his biggest westward land grab to date, logic implies that a NATO country will be next. The "Zelensky is a hero" mantra is very harmful. It's likely that Zelensky could have negotiated and avoided the entire invasion to begin with. It may have involved relinquishing the Donbas regions, but given the majority of the local populations supported that, it's worthwhile to consider this option against the current cost of resistance. Appeasing Putin may not have worked, but we would essentially be in the same position as we are today if it didn't. Isn't it worth a shot if there is a chance it could have prevented the death, destruction, and misplacement of millions? Or perhaps it would not even have required the separation of Donbas but simply a neutrality agreement, as is being discussed now.

Sadly we don't know because these concessions were not seriously considered by Zelensky prior to the invasion. And instead, the entire world has cheered him on as he subjected millions to the consequences of delayed negotiations.
