Two russian NUCLEAR bombers, both with a NUCLEAR payload entered Swedish airspace on 2 March. They were escorted by 27 russian fighters. Sweden is a neutral country. This was a clear provocation and a flexing of muscles by putin against a neutral neighbour. Sweden are NOT part of NATO. But they won't be neutral for much longer as they are now seeking to join NATO.
'Peaceful putin' has also sent his bombers towards UK airspace repeatedly. The last time being 4 Feb 2022. Since 2004 there have been 136 such incidents.
British Typhoon fighters were scrambled, as they always are, and a conversation with the pilots of said bombers went as follows. 'Pilots of russian bombers. You are approaching UK airspace should you enter UK airspace we will shoot you down'.
They turned around.
'Peaceful putin' is playing a very dangerous game. As had those 29 aircraft entered UK airspace they would all now be in bits at the bottom of the North Sea. Why? Well because a two or three Bear Bombers have enough Nuclear weapons on board to wipe out Western Europe!
In response to these aggressions on the part of putin NATO has sent ground troops, anti missile defences and fighter planes to Eastern Europe.
It seems to me that the incursion into Swedish airspace was deliberate so that when they now join NATO he can say 'See NATO expansion and aggression again'.
