And that could be not true anyway, because it is possible to send an email from a fake recipient.
I could send you and email claiming i m him if i know his recipient address.
tommybear claimed to be Tom Picue. Most people thought nothing of it. Even if they did, nobody said anything. Now he has claimed that he was lying. I find no reason to believe that he is lying about his lie. Logic would suggest that if he is who he claimed to be, he wouldn't put on a facade that he isn't Tom Picue. He also claims to have some 30 or so other accounts. This I don't believe. Russ would have surely caught this long before he got close to 30. FJPV/ThePo was banned for having 2 accounts, tommy would have never gotten away with 30. Be he Tom Picue or be he not. He can do a backflip and disappear up his own a$$ for all I care. With any luck, maybe he will.

Edit: Sorry ragnorak, that was rude of me. You may very well be correct, though I will try and check on it.
Of course, it could take some tact on your part to get cooperation once you've told them the conversation is being recorded. 😕
This cheat stuff has become so common place now I simply don't care.. Few nights ago my friend came around and played a game and told me when he was around another friend of ours he see him have an extra board up and asked him what he was doing.. and said playing lewis at chess.. hehe the git was cheating me and got caught.. But my friend said to me don't get pissed off with these on the net.. So really it's dosn't matter...
I played many games OTB and never lost any. So im comming to london meet up to get some real players who will give me good game maybe even beat me. BUT NO CHEATING!

Originally posted by arrakisI'm the person who provoked tommybear after his initial plea to the members that he was accused of cheating... I did it because he fit a pattern. Other people also picked up on this pattern and No1 took the time to pursue the individual.
Your graph looks suspicious... but your case is pure and simple. Every game you've played has become a record in history, Tommy. Yeah, so even if you were cheating and didn't get caught, guess what!? 100 years from now people would be able to determine if you cheated! Cause like I said, everything anyone does here is a matter of RECORDED HISTORY.
So, I ...[text shortened]... national rating is around 1500. You want the support of RHP members? Then be willing to earn it.
So... looking at tommybear's stats, he hasn't been dumped yet. I wonder why? He broke at least one of the TOS rules, and maybe even two of them:
1) impersonating another person.
2) using a chess engine.
Will one of the mods comment on this?
I think we should let him keep paying his $20 and ban him as soon as we find out it's him again.
I've stopped playing non-members, unless I know them personally so if all us pawn stars do that (and not just those in the clan) then he will have to register to play those that he is aiming for.
The mods must have a method of finding duplicate accounts, cos people are being banned for it.
Therefore, leave his accounts until he pays and then kick him off. Maybe after he's run up a $100 bill on his credit card (sorry dads cc) he will start to get bored.
On the subject of registering. A method of detecting timewasters needs to be put in place. There seems to be a lot of very intelliegent (if a little arguementative at times) people on here. Surely togeather we can think of a way of ensuring that those that register are not the same timewasters? Hmmm, think i'll start a thread!

Also game mods cannot remove players, only the site admins can do that.
Since he's "confessed" to both, it's not really a game mod issue at all, so I'm fairly certain that Tommybear and Russ will be in contact soon...

RTh
I'd like to take time to point out to our members, that if the mod team hadn't been created then all the "tommybears" of the world would have continued to prey on the innocent people here at RHP.
Yes, it's true that the mod team had no direct action in this case... BUT, tommybear was accused of cheating and BECAUSE RHP has a group that can investigate cheating, tommy bear went public out of fear of being caught!
The results we've had with eliminating this cheater are credited to:
* the fact that RHP has set up a team to investigate cheaters.
* the continued pressure from the membership regarding this case.
* No1 maurader for taking the time to pursue the identity of the user.
Hence, Russ deserves a lot of respect for sticking it out and supporting the mod team. As do several of the members who no longer accepted the trash spouted by this person.
My final say: the mod team has a very positive effect on the good of RHP, as do the members who are now helping the team.
