Even RepublAmUhrica has evolved so far that divorce is legal there.
So marriages ending up in divorce reflects evolution for you.

They still study Lee's battles and tactics at West Point and other military academies.

@Dood111

At the Air Force Academy they memorize a "Robert E Lee" quote.

It goes something like this...

Duty then is the sublimest word in the English language. You should do your duty in all things, you can never do more, you should never wish to do less.

Rather that and two new opportunities at happiness with a more appropriate partner, than a life of mutual hatred, yes.

So you do not believe in growth and kids growing up with both of their biological parents in the same household.

Have a problem, split and have another problem then split again. No need to learn. No need to grow. Just move on and find a more approriate partner who will eventually prove to be another person.

I suppose that is the way most people do it today.

That is a very interesting question, and we don't really know generally how to handle relationships.

We do know the grass is always greener on the other side, so if a marriage is going to last both people are going to have to believe in something greater than their own personal happiness.

There will always be bad times, which means there must be something that keeps you there when times are bad.
