The post that was quoted here has been removedWell, the point is that the Tories have tried to claim the same broad center-ground now that New Labour did in the mid-late '90's.
For Chrissakes, both they & Lib Dems now even have their own Tone-clones!
If you think that things will change drastically under the Tories (should they win the next election) then you are mistaken.
I was pointing out that things weren't so hot in the good old days of 17 years of Tory rule as some people with incredibly short memories seem to suggest. Having said that, obviously I think that Labour have made mistakes - it would be ludicrous to suggest they haven't after recent events.
The post that was quoted here has been removedI think things will be very close in the next General Election.
Labour have had 1 catastrophe after another in the last couple of months. Brown actually started very well if you remember & all the polls showed increases in popularity for several weeks.
I don't think things will continue to go from bad to worse for the government but plenty of damage has already been done.
A hung parliament after the election wouldn't surprise me.

It beats the hell out of the original topic.
Which isn't hard.
