Im am totaly amazed at you guys
There's something totally different between sustaining oneself - humans have incisors, we're carnivores - and torturing an animal. The guy's 81 and I hope he's sleeping outside or in some fraking homeless shelter with a drunk mouth-breathing next to him all night.

There is a big difference between a cat or dog that kills a mouse cruelly and a human that callously tosses a mouse into a fire. Those animals certainly can't be held accountable because they are driven by base instinct. The man in this case couldn't be bothered to at least kill the mouse instantly, painlessly. His complete lack of compassion taught him a costly lesson.

ok I see how you operate now

The reason cats torture their food to death is that their skill in hunting is vital for their survival, and by maiming prey, then releasing it, they give themselves a chance to practice their hunting skills. This is why cats will bring you dying mice, by the way: they are treating you like a kitten. The part of a cat's brain that wants to hunt is entirely separate from the bit that wants to feed, which is why if you feed a cat, it will still play with the ball on the fishing line.

Originally posted by stevetoddok, so If Im getting this right, you think that the human should punished healthwise, because he punished a mouse healthwise. With people like you, soon it will be againts the law to set a mouse trap. What about the mouse trap that you buy, that traps the mouse live, and the mouse starves to death, you can buy that at walmart, should everyone be punished who buys one of them? at least in a fire, it has a quicker death, rather then a slow death, days of suffering.

I still am totaly amazed that this is even a discussion
Originally posted by flyUnityThat's right. Burning to death is one of the worst ways to go I hear. This guy knowingly threw a living creature into a fire.

His house burned down, and I think there should be more punishment for his cruel act. If I were to do something wrong, against the law... and my house burned down do you think the police would call it even?

I hope it's not the way you operate that you see no problem with the old man's behavior.
Originally posted by flyUnityYes, I do think that is a rather cruel death, still doesn't make throwing a living creature into a fire right.

They adore me though! 😀
Originally posted by flyUnityI guess my problem is that the guy was just too d@mn lazy to thwack the mouse on the head and be done with it. Throwing it into a fire is indefensible to me. It's just too callous.
