I remember an RHP thread like this from many years ago and it was quite entertaining, so I thought I’d resurrect the idea.
Scenario: we as a group are stranded for life on a desert island with no hope of rescue, however we have plentiful basic food and fresh water. It’s super basic but our survival is ensured.
Your task in this thread is to suggest one item each from a designated set of categories, and which you deem to be essential to a better life for you, and if possible convince other posters of your choices. You must choose one item from each of 5 categories and you may of course debate with others over choices. A general consensus may be possible, but is unlikely to be agreed on. Choices are not restricted by manufacturing constraints and will be powered, repeatable and operational. For example if you (for some reason) choose a sports car, it will be fuelled … as would an electric toothbrush, video or music device etc
Internet is not available and not permitted, nor are escape machines, helicopters, time machines, tele-pods or other mechanisms for getting off of the island. It’s all about lifestyle on the island.
All choices will be enjoyed by all members on the island, however in the final call only one from each category will be given to us.
The 5 categories are:
1) hygiene and heath
2) arts and crafts
3) entertainment (including music, TV and movies)
4) food and drink
5) tools and utensils
Please make your pitch š
