And what infrastructure would there be doing that on said deserted island? If there WAS such energy infrastructure and said island has been deserted for say 20 years, how much of that infrastructure would still be working? like where would the energy be coming from to power such devices on a deserted island?

I thought life on a desert(ed) island would be simple and pleasant - now I am not so sure. If I should be concerned with complications there, I might as well stay at home. So I'm taking my belongings 1 - 5 and return on the first available opportunity.

It would be like the show Naked and Afraid, you are in this case butt naked, given two things, like a machette and a pot or a fire starter and a pot and that is it.
So they are in some area with hazards like extreme high temperatures, or an area with known predators and such.
A deserted Island would assume as an island there would be water all around, mostly salt water so undrinkable as is unless you have fire and a way to collect steam back to water but at least you would have the possibility of securing seafood, fish, mollusks, crabs and the like.
But the island itself, deserted, by deserted I would assume nobody has lived there either EVER or centuries since people were there so at best some broken down cabins may be there or some such.
I would certainly want a fire starter, not just matches because they will run out or get wet.
Machettes, pots and the like would be great to have and so would water purifier tabs but tabs would run out eventually so boiling would be a more permanent way to have safe water and it would depend on what native animals or birds are available to hunt or trap as to whether you can get protein. If there were berry plants and such you could maybe get sugars but that would not sustain you for the long haul.
Getting long term protein would mean there would have to be a thriving animal population or you have ways to get fish and such out of the sea.
Even there, you would be not getting enough fiber.
It would be a dangerous proposition no matter what you bring. Like fishing gear, fishing hooks would be gone eventually and you would be left trying to make your own hooks out of bone or wood or some such.
If there were hanging vines you could make traps and such but the episodes of Naked and Afraid we saw, there was almost zero success making sea water traps or fresh water traps.
My guess is a survivor of say a boat crash onto the shores of a deserted island would not be survivable for years, they would probably be dead in a few months and all the infinite juke box deals would not help at all for long term survival.
You would also have to have some way to combat insect bites, big problem for some places

on the barrel of whiskey wouldn't it be better to have the recipe for making whiskey instead of a barrel which would quickly be gone?

A pitch pipe would be good if you are going to make instruments, get them in tune and such but that would only apply to wind instruments because you would presumably not have wires to make any kind of plucked instrument.
If you ...[text shortened]... unes I write, instrumentals mainly, on soundcloud, can PM you the particulars if you are interested.
Ah not a musician sadly. Just picked up a bit while supervising my young sons with their home practice. A few in my family play and we’ve still got my kids Roland drum kit, electric piano, a mixer, mic, amps and stuff here. Thought that making some sort of musical instruments would be fun on a desert island. What’s whiskey made from, potatoes? We could make some lovely liqueurs with the exotic fruits?

I'm sure one of the island crew would figure out how to make booze🙂

Isn’t the thread titled “DESERT”. Ergo, although a lot of sand there will likely be an oasis somewhere on it, thus water?🤔

That could be the case. So DESERT might be a different definition than DESERTED.
But on that "desert' island there may be people there meaning no problem getting help but a DESERTED island would mean by definition no other humans there.
Then you better have SOME resources available, trees bearing fruit, animals able to be trapped, plants to make ropes with and the like and the ability to make fire.
For instance if it was an island with lots of rain you would have trouble making fire with the old stick method. But of course a "DESERT" island would not have THAT difficulty.

I would much prefer to be stranded on a Dessert island, fashioned out of profiteroles.

You're putting too much thought into this.
