Yes, Phlab. We agree. Sometimes swift action/save the questions for later is the correct and only way to go (especially when you have direct responsibility or a personal stake in the matter). Understanding an event, behavior or person (within the context of underlying motivations or probable causes) may in some instances temper judgement, maximize reasoned responses and minimize emotional reactions and grandstanding overkill. Viable understanding and perspective inform our thresholds.

All matters of personal taste, preferences, appreciations, definitions of beauty, etc, are of course intensely subjective, private

individual issues. Reality is objective, whether we apprehend it or not. In place before we arrived. Still here after we're gone.

Great question. It's now past 1;00AM. Incredibly wonderful day and I'm exhausted.

Believe my reply will prove less wordy and more on point if saved for the morning.

Don't know about him but I'm lost in all this philosophical banter. Give me "hard and proven facts" any day.😳

I apologize for my earlier weird post.

It was something I ripped off from a dating forum and posted here as a joke, since it was out of context it seemed to fit.

I didn't know where it was from, but I knew why it was posted.

My retort to you was in jest. Yours by accident or not actually was in the spirit of the topic. Really no need for an opology but thanks for the thought.

Last night when I said your 'next obvious question' post was 'great' my meaning (in context) was/still is that it's a bigger one than we may realize, timely and right as rain and takes our conversation to the next level. GBStees insistence on facts also adds critical new dimensions. Quick wave length check before resuming: (1) Thread OP offers a proposition. (2) Next few pages of well paced give and take succeeded in clarifying our focus. (3) Phlab and Duecer's thoughtful probes were especially encouraging. (4) We're done with generalizations. Onus is now upon all of us to knuckle down and consider, step at a time, gut questions of 'alignment' and calibration toward ultimate realities, which have perplexed mankind in pristine caves as well as the ivy groves of academe throughout recorded history. Question: We all in general agreement on the thread's status, momentum, value? If not, let's forget it. If yes, let's stay with it and see where it leads. We've all got skin in this game whether we realize it or not. Here's my pledge: No more new gb general forum threads as long this conversation receives at least 2-3 thoughtful/insightful/objective comments or questions each new day. Quality and clarity, rather than quanity and superficiality, of language make a difference. Let's matter. ~gb

The contextual alignment required to understand an issue aright contains--- at minimum--- humility and recognition of impotence. Without these two, all else is merely rote.
