Originally posted by CenterNutI used to have the gt 3. I wasn't that taken by it. It tended to sound very plastic and tinny, and had no real guts behind it. If I were to get any effects pedals again, I'd get separates. This gives you more versatility as well, although I have read that the GT 8 allows you to put your effects in any order you want. I wouldn't mind a play with one though.
Anyone have a Boss GT8?

Watch the NAMM vid in the interactice demo's I like the guys tremolo tricks. And "Gut Bust" in the audio demo's.. Its those two things that made me chose this over the pod.
And onto pods. My mate bought a line 6 amp with built in effects. Whilst the effects are of good quality and the amp sounds very juicy, there is no scope to play about with the effects. You just have the default presets, which is a bit crap if you are trying to get your delay level syncronised with something else etc.
I only heard about these the other night and was pretty impressed, it was a GT-5 somebody played over a winamp stream to us all, then I looked and found out about the GT6 & 8, he also had very good guitar & pickups seymour duncan. I need something I can record into my computer (cubase sx2) and get a professional sound. I prefere the GT8 over the PodXT-live. I've been using native instruments Guitar Rig which pretty much sucks for hi-gain, also nomad factory Rock Amp Legends which I prefer to NI GR.
Or do you think I should buy a mashall AVT 20 + decent mic + decent pre-amp. and mic it? 😀

these sound so nice . but quite expensive for small combo £180 for the avt20 🙁

My guitar is a japanese strat, but i've transferred the electrices out of an old knackered 1982 American strat into it. Sounds pretty good. I recently heard a Gibson SG, and was pretty blown away by the guts and fullness they have. Might be the nex thing to put on my wish list.

Yall are exactly why I play the drums. I have no idea what yall are talking about. There's only 2 pedals on the drums, and it doesn't matter what brand they are. You should try.
Yer I like the SG's too, But also been looking at some PRS, Ibanez & Jackson. check these out which one would u get ?
http://www.prsguitars.com/showcase/current/santana3.html (I would spend upto £400 on a prs i like)
http://www.ibanez.co.jp/world/products/eg/page/RG350DX_WH_a_e_u.html
http://www.jacksonguitars.com/gear/gear.php?partno=DK2_Dinky (these are £300 without the graphics or £380 with ie the flames)
The PRS looks very nice. Looks good, how does it sound? I like ibanex, Good for a crunchy rock sound which is what I like. I had an old battered Jackson guitar once. It sounded terrible. Not sure if this was down to it been battered or not. The electrics may have been a bit knackered. Either way, it'd take a lot of of convincing for me to get one. Think the flames are pure cheese, and not really a bargain at £80.

PS What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians?
A drummer. 😛
PPS Father Christmas, a drummer with good timing and Tom Cruise are walking up the road together. They come across a ten pound note on the floor. Who picks it up?
Tom Cruise, the other two don't exist. 😛😛
Originally posted by jimslyp69I seen alot of prs on tv and they all sound very nice indeed. the ibanez rg350 comes setup with Drop D tuning 😀, and the jackson has duncan pickups 😉
