Since I finished school, I've got a keen interest in languages. My home town is quite touristy and I always like to say something to the customers in my shop in their own language for the craic.

Anyway, post the following in your (non-english, smartarses) language (or any language you know)

Hello:
Goodbye:
Please:
Thank you:
Your welcome:

Maybe you should master your own language first. It's "you're welcome" and not "your welcome". You're - it's a contraction for you are. You see how that works?

I have not read the whole thread, so I am guessing someone already beat me to the punch with Spanish, but just in case.

Hm, I don't entirely agree.

"Hei" would be more common than "hallo" (if it's not a phone call).

"Please" is not like the German "bitte", it only means "vær så snill", not "vær så god". "Vær så god" means "you are welcome".

"Velbekomme" is something like "your health!"

Edit: "You are welcome" can also be translated as "ingen årsak".

Because if I had taken the time to read it, I would certainly not have been the first to post in Spanish. Of course, the phone rang as I was typing my response, and MetalPig beat me. Oh well. Shouldn't you be on vacation?
