You've made zero posts regarding the op.
I think Joker's portrayal of psychosis, criminality, violence and a dystopian society was gripping.

I particularly didn't like Joker because I saw somebody with a mental illness distressed by it's depiction of a psychiatric ward so perhaps that is personal.
It's a horror film.

@FMF

Here is something to throw out there.

If you have a relative with a mental illness, you find this film slightly awkward. You obviously know more about this Liverpool fan than me, so possibly professionally he had reasons to highlight this.

Many years ago, Ronnie Barker had a show on tv called 'Open All Hours'. a 'highlight' of said show was Mr Barker hilariously mocking a stammer. My son stammered, I hated the program.

There is a slight analogy?

It's not a film that I would recommend to someone with mental illness. Nor do I think films have to pass any sort of test or be given a label: "OK for mentally ill people".

Watching the movie twice, I marvelled at JP’s physique. He obviously lost many pounds, appearing malnourished and wasted.

@FMF

I would agree totally with that.

But, if I had a son who had any sort of these problems, I would find the film awkward.

I don't see that as any reason for you and your tag chum to harry the Liverpool fan so relentlessly

For your analogy to work it would have to incorporate something that corresponds to the idea that there is a misconception about there being a link between psychosis, violence and criminality.

Did you watch the entire series, or just one episode?

Actors can do that.

At a million plus per film, I imagine a 6 week diet is easy to do
