I think loading ships is done before movement (I could be wrong here), so I think you could sail them out to sea the same turn. You just give them a sail order just like you give the armies marching orders.

Edit: AND what No1 said about making Fleets 🙂
You load, sail and unload in the same turn. It's pretty pointless sailing before loading.
Also, the ships you see on the map are the ones at sea that belong to the landlocked states. The rest are in port.

Question. How much of other peoples development will we be able to see after each turn. Will we get examples saying for instance "France invades Normandy" or anything like that? What happens exactly?

You'll get a series of messages which recount all the events you performed. You'll get detailed battle reports which describe all the battles you were in. You'll see everyone's proclamations. There will be a list of the total gold value of each realm. I think that's about it.

You will see who your realm is allied to and who you're at war with, but you won't know what other realms are allied to which ones, or who else is at war. So intelligence gathering is up to you. Normally you wouldn't know who took what province except by looking at the map and seeing whose flags were flying where, but I will keep my map up to date for everyone to consult:

Very interested to see what happens in this first turn.
I can say, even now, that I am in agreement with you rwingett - There should be two turns in a week.

Given how slow some people respond to diplomatic talks, three might be too many. Now, if everyone were being diplomatic every day and more than once a day? Yea, that would be great, but I doubt we could find 23 people to do that!

Well, I dont think that Nemesio would be too keen on that - besides, unless you have alliances with the Toots and the Novgords, then your back would be open wide....besides, there is plenty of territory around me that is not occupied...why start a war so soon?

lol, I was just kidding. Ofcourse, if things don't turn out to my liking at all, I'd be ripped apart from 4 sides.

Edit: I would never leave my back open wide, even if I had alliances.

Has anyone else NOT received confirmation of the turnfile you sent in?

Yesterday I sent mine in by way of the weblink. This morning I received an email from the GM saying my orders hadn't arrived and that I should attach them to an email and send them. I've done so twice today yet still haven't received an affirmative reply.

Anyone else waiting on a reply?

Received mine, but the last update I did was days ago - took about 18-24 hours to receive it.

I sent mine in and got the same email. But I also got a confirmation e-mail sent to The Plumber (the last ruler of England) who kindly sent it on to me.

I got my confirmation very quickly by e-mail after using the weblink.

Did you try BuffaloBill's suggestion:

http://www.lordsofconquest.com/newturns.php enter your details and check turnfile.

EDIT: Actually it's called "Check Turn Status"

I just did and got something like "Sire, your orders are present and awaiting execution".
