The plot and means of execution were much more original in the 3rd movie.
I saw (pun not intended) the previews for Saw 2, where two guys have to cut their legs off to escape. WTF!? Who wants to see $hit like that!? 😠
Watching $hit like that must be some form of dealing with the ugly truth that is human nature. Sick twisted things happen every day. Putting it into a nice safe format, such as a film, helps to alleviate the real fears that life presents us with. 😕
Edit:
Plus being scared out of your wits is just really fun. 😀

Later he asked me why I wanted to show him sick $hit like that?
Well, the scene bothered me too, but I didn't get sick from it. However, I know myself and I cannot watch people being tortured. Just bothers me too much.

It's also practical in the sense that people should be afraid of these things. Seeing them happen in a film makes them a much more real threat and hopefully our irrational fear of possible reality makes us more cautious. Some people don't have the stomach for possibilities I guess.

Originally posted by mokkoIt doesn't bother me to see the pretty girl in JAWS to get eaten by the shark (afterall, sharks have to eat too!), but what bothers me big time is to see a human torture another human being.

Yeah, I read a news story where a girl was dragged into an alley in Detroit and raped by a gang. 50 people walked by, saw what was happening and never did anything to help her! 😠 That news story bothered me so much that I couldn't sleep for a week!
As a person who doesn't particularly like people to begin with, this sort of thing confirms my feelings about the masses in general. People seem to be so wrapped up in their own lives that they won't do anything to help others.
So yeah, I guess it's one of my dislikes. Hate to see people hurting other people. 🙁

Sorry, the movie was called "Body Snatchers". I remember those "seed pods" opening up when a person went to sleep and taking over their body. Horrible, just horrible I tell you! :'(
"X The Unknown" was a story about a radioactive blob that went around sucking the life out of people. In a way it's similar to the original blob movie, which is also very scary! *shivering*
Now that you describe it, I think I have seen X The Unknown.
Originally posted by arrakisThe original Blob "scare factor" was better, but that is because of my age when I saw it. The special effects in the remake were better.
What did you think of "The Blob"? Pretty scary eh? Did you like the original better or the remake?
I think overall, I prefer the original of most movies over their remakes....

I am the same way - people hurting people spurs me to action - if interference would be stupid, at least a phone call to the police.
Originally posted by arrakisI was not aware of that.

Another reason to dislike him. Cant stand him already.
