These groups/musicians made me take notice that something new as going on.
The Led Zep 4 songs
Sgt Pepper songs
The Pixies in the late 80's
Nirvana
Prince
Black Sabbath early days
Welcome to the Jungle was also a wake-up call.

yeah the acoustic set in ny was amazing something that for me put them in the history of music as one of the best bands. shame about the way it ended but i guess it sort of adds to the cachet of nirvana today. by axel you mean axel rose? (or bill Baily lol) i never really liked him that much, music was great but he's a bit of an ass, just look at the whole chinese democracy mess.

ok.
just had an amzing nap and see this is getting active now.
first lots of chicks like being called dude. get over it. second it seems we are living in a time warp here people. Good music is out there. It seems we all are guilty of what badmoon said in a private forum of ours, and here as well. We are living in time warps. ACDC Metallica Black Sabbath Led Zepellin Pink Floyd are names of bands that aren't putting out good music if they are putting music out anymore. They are bands that have paved a way if you will for bands to follow(and I do acknowledge that in there time for there purpose were good) However something sad has happenned. We won't let go. Music is still being written music is still good, we just have a problem that has gotten out of hand in our time and it's money payola is a somewhat forgotten term but is far to prevalent now in modern music and because of it we aren't exposed to the best in music anymore. What we are exposed to is the money making music. Because of this I think its painfuly obvious that we need to dig. We need to search. We need to listen. Do you really wanna be listening to Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin ACDC and Metallica in 10 years from now cause you are caught in a timewarp?

Originally posted by pawnfondlerwho said we weren't listening to new music, this treads about the best rock bands ever, nothing thats out how can claim to be part of that yet. for example the arctic monkeys released a fantastic album this year, a few more and they can put themselves in such a list but not now.

Ever hear of Radiohead, Muse, or Modest Mouse? Their all extremely popular. There are plenty of others, but it all depends on your taste, I like The Killers, but I'm sure one of you guys with old gray ball hair is going to tell me they suck.
There's plenty of good music, it's not even hard to find.
