Right - Sorry.
I didn't read enough of the thread - just the title. If people are posting Radiohead and Nirvana, this thread is not discussing "best rock bands ever" - it is discussing what are our favorite bands. Different question.
They are certainly good bands and entertaining to be sure, but please. Their biggest claim to fame was they caught a ...[text shortened]... th a music scene. You will hear plenty of bands better than Nirvana and as good as Radiohead.

I said I like Radiohead well enough - they are entertaining.
I just don't think they are even in the discussion of "best ever rock bands". So what - my opinion. I don't think that makes me a jerk.

Right. OK then.
So answer the question - what is the single greatest rock band ever?
Radiohead? Really?
I guess, if I'm going with that influence idea I'd choose Pink Floyd. Revolutionary, and I love their stuff too - I have quite a few of their albums, but my sister seems to have scratched most of those to hell. 🙁

Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
CHORUS:
Strangers, waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
CHORUS
Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people
