My cat, aged 14, has justed started greeting me each morning by licking my forehead. Why it took her 14 years to establish this routine is beyond me.

During my drop-out phase in the early 1980s, as well other random employments, I took jobs on building sites carrying bricks and knocking-up muck.
I didn’t mind the blisters it was the occasional and quite extreme violence I couldn’t stand, so after a summer of what was actually an excellent body toning opportunity I decided that intellectual conformity was a better route to earning beer tokens and picking up girls.
