So... going by what people have said in here the majority goes to the Greens.
🙂
Now to have everyone vote where their heart lies next round, and have green candidates to vote for!

It's not a big deal for me if they stay or go. There is argument that we pay them a lot, but last report I read it was aproximatly a pound a person anually. They do permote the country and they're not a negative, imo. They are no longer decision makers so queen signing things is unneccessary now.
It's not a bad idea to have a family that repersent us and are happy to go speak on our behalf in other countries, it frees our prime minister to do their job. If I had to chose either way I'd pick for them to stay. Greens are apposed to anything that devides classes. But the royal family give something to the country imo.

Sorry, for a moment there it sounded like you had an opinion. But I guess it must have been the wind whistling through the hole where your democratic rights used to live.
It is possible to have opinions without being opinionated. Blame the politicians for my political apathy, not me.

If you don't exercise your vote, your opinion counts for nothing.

why not have a competition, on a reality show, and pick a NEW family to represent you? maybe they'd do better, at a fraction of the cost.

It's an idea. I don't really like it though. They'd have to be naturally good at greeting and welcoming people. They'd have to repersent us in a good light (like not go out dressed in a swazsticker!). Excuse the expression- the royals are bread for the job.

I exercised my right to abstain. My vote does count for nothing as I can't discern any noticeable difference between any of the parties, hence cannot see how it will make a diference. It makes no odds to me who gets in, so why waste my time. The fact that we had a hung parliament really reinforces my belief that there is not much diference between our main political parties.

If in the future, should anything radical ever happen in our bland political bucket of piss, that might offer change for the better, then I might feel inclined to step up and be counted, until then, I will continue with my ambivolence to the whole shebang.

To add to that, I feel that we do not live in a true democracy in that, we do not get the say in what policies and Act of Parliament are passed. That is left to politicians, who are undoubtedly swayed by their own opinions or interests, and not those of the general public.

Democracy? My arse.

It's ironic that you then abstain from voting for parties who propose electoral reform in the direction of a better democracy.

Believer in a better democracy? My arse.

Maybe this is where democracy leads to; the extream views have been pushed to the side and mediocracy remains. Might not be too exciting, but it's not such a bad result.

Would you like more power at local level decisions?

Proposals Shmosals dude. They're just paying lip service to the disillusioned. Just another attempt at winning votes.
