These are the upcoming rounds, and the order in which they will come about...
2 Moving Water (now open)
3. Natural Wonders (Very Broad category encompassing mountains, lakes, sea, Fog Mist, Valleys, Wildlife, etc, etc. In fact its so broad, I'll allow contestants upto 5 entries each in this round.)
4. Manmade
5. Natural Light
6. Series
7. Poverty??? (I'd like this to be more of an exploration of what may be conceived as poverty, rather than 'Look, there's a crap house, with poor people sitting outside. Quick, lets huck rocks at them'😉 I'll leave it up to your own discretion
8. Self
9. Black and White
10. Kids
11. Urban
12. Humour
13. Chess
14. Still Life
15. Extended Exposure
16. Movement/Motion
17. Home (can be in your home, or just in the locallity that u would regard as home)
18. People
Hopefully, we'll get to the end.
Anyway, send up to 3 photos with the theme Moving Water along with a title and caption if u wish to rhpphotocomp@gmail.com. If you just want to send me a link along with a message giving me permission to host the pics in the rhpcomp account, I'll stick them in the album. if you want to host the pics yourself, I'll post the links in the post declaring the round of voting open.

In deciding one shot to send I need to get an opinion.
Moving water indicates that the water must be the theme.
ie the photographers rendition of a water moving naturally or being moved.
White water rafting and canoeing shots, surfing, parasurfing etc should figure in say a later water sport catagory.
The winner of a recent local newspaper comp based on water turned out to be a child in a swimming pool flicking her long hair back spraying and interesting water pattern in the sunlight. Lots of photographers argued that the winning shot was more about the girl in the water than the water itself.
Would be a good time to drop this in for comment.

BTW, "Calmness" was a real snapshot. I had a concert in Sortland on the Vesterålen islands, and we just had time for a short walk between lunch and the concert. One of the local musicians drove us to this nice spot. The calmness of the picture is actually a bit deceiving, because she was talking all the time. 😉
The Plumber is right on about "Going into Hiding". It was a snapshot with a cheap camera and cheap film. It also turned out too dark because the pictures always look brighter in Photoshop. 😕 I had thought about sending in another picture of the sun behind Landegode which I like better, but I wasn't sure whether that actually was a sunset.
