has anyone wondered whether maybe russ had a good reason to 'ignore' that vote and pick who he picked to be game mods? ie, a reason other than that he didn't care about the issue, or sheer bloody mindedness!

the truth is we have very little idea what exactly they do, and they've made clear it's going to stay that way. i know this is frustrating and not very transparent, but we're not talking about convicting them of a crime.

i see no reason not to trust that russ is taking this issue seriously and dealing with it in a sensible way and not telling us exactly how it all works for a very good reason.

SURELY russ has earnt the right to be given the benefit of the doubt! and the same goes for the gamemods, who must be putting a lot of work in behind the scenes.

You are right; we should always blindly trust anybody in any type of position of authority.

That is a perfectly factual statement. You are just taking it as a personal criticism which is not intended. A great deal of hard work had already been done when you commenced that thread, but how were you to know it?

It's basically the young-adult equivilant of "I made a boo-boo". No1 is clinging to his youthful delusions anyway he can.

It's also a perfectly factual statement that I sent games to the Game Mods showing IM was a cheat almost 2 months ago. Did it really take that long to determine he matched up almost 100% to a commercially available engine, esp. when someone had told you, me and others that 8 months ago, including the exact engine used! It was subsequently decided that person did not meet the requirements to be a Game Mod despite the fact that he finished second in the voting.

Sounds like you'd be the fourth lemming in line at the cliff.

a bit of a selective citation ... but it's still a big leap to 'we should always blindly trust anybody in any type of position of authority', wouldn't you say?!

1. it's just a chess site. i'd be a lot more likely to worry about trusting 'authorities' if the stakes were higher (eg convicting people).

2. the game mods have made clear that they use some covert methods they need to keep secret. that sounds reasonable to me. i would be less inclined to trust them if i thought they were being secretive about things for no reason at all.

why do you think they're being secretive about it?
why do you think they passed some people over for game mods?
do you really think russ just isn't bothered about this issue?

1. Don't know why; it's a secret.

2. Cuz they didn't want aggressive Game Mods. If GEOS had been a Game Mod in January, IM31 wouldn't have cheated in hundreds of games since then, would he?

3. He wasn't at all before last December; he didn't seem to be very much until very recently going by the fact that he had let the Game Mod team slip to only two for several months.

So, has this campaign been only a qualified success for you No1, please share your battle fatigue with us?

You asked for people to get banned, they've been banned, you asked for the names to be displayed publicly, that's happened also.

So, what is it that you're now crusading for? I'm all ears.

Vicki Vale: What do you want?
The Joker: My face on the one dollar bill.
Vicki Vale: You must be joking.
The Joker: Do I look like I'm joking?

Aren't we going too far on this? 😠

Come on guys, please don't be a "legend killer" like what RKO did to RIP (some WWE terms used here!) 🙂

I think IM31 was beat up alot as a youth. This is the only thing I can't eliminate when trying to figure out his proposterous behavior. There's definitely some serious insecurity issues there.
