Originally posted by treetalkThe clan membership has DRASTICALLY altered in the last couple of weeks because of this very issue. The clan is no longer issuing new challenges, therefore people are not in the clan to play games. They are mostly in the clan because they wanted to see no1's analysis.
Maybe not, but when you see who is in his clan and then read the posts on this thread from those clan members ... and how many of the hundreds of posts are from that clan ...
Therefore the fact that people from CC have posted in this topic is neither coincidence nor evidence of a group acting together.
I'm not criticising you, I can see how you followed that line of thinking. I'm just giving you some facts you're probably not aware of.

[i]Gatecrasher: "From now on, however, if No1 or anyone else has a fresh complaint or evidence of cheating, they should simply send it to a Game Mod or the Site Admin. If the complaint has substance, it will be thoroughly investigated."[i]
Does this mean no1 is not allowed anymore to post his evidence in the CC's private clan forum ?
Here's my take on it:
1) banning high profile players would be sure to cause their friends to raise a stink,,,, Russ correctly guessed that
2) no1maurader's private forum ( which incidently people were allowed to argue the contrary) showed Russ he needed to take action and make that action public.
3) the game mod team was doubled in size and worked with deliberate speed and came to the unanimous conclusion that IM and 4 others players were cheats.
4) there are more bannings in the works too
5) no1marauder was not the cause of this, cheaters were, PERIOD

Russ will kill the games, he's not decided how.
P-
but IF THEY ARE TO BE KILLED THEN ...
either ....
all the games in progress should simply be cancelled/deleted
or
the games against the highest rated opponents should be resigned first, and then onwards down the line.

I think it's mentioned (possibly in the depths of this thread) that Russ can reset IM's rating to something really low - I think it was 500 - before resigning the games.
Originally posted by flexmoreI have actually been following one of his games against Quirine. Q has earned the right for first resignation! He played brilliantly!!!

Originally posted by flexmoreWhat case? How can he put forward a case. The only evidence there is are the games and there is too high a match up rate for counter arguments - unless he can provide OTB games, where there is no possibility of cheating of that type, with a similar match up rate to the engine. There's 2 possibilities, either he cheated in which case he can't return - or he didn't in which case he probably won't want to. If he is putting forward some kind of appeal, then the games can be put on ice indefinitely.

Originally posted by DeepThoughtI don't think games are the only place you could get evidence from. What about message logs and PM's
