Blair Witch was excellently done and very original. Now, if you want to talk about a waste of film... well, that would have to be Blair Witch 2.
Also, S1mone, Fast Sofa, Dumb and Dumberer.

This is one of the few movies I ever lost money on in my video store. I paid thirteen dollars each for three copies, and at two daollars a rental I never made my money back. Most new releases I was paying thirty-sixty dollars and making my money back easily.
If you want to see a cabin in the woods movie get "the evil dead".

This is a movie that has no blood, no monsters, nothing that we can visually be afraid of, and it's one of the only horror flicks that actually places us RIGHT in the situation as it's happening. I loved how the movie carried itself and I feel really sorry for anyone who laughs at this movie, cause they're obviously missing that one part of their imagination that would make them love it. The sad part is, if this movie had been made back in the 60s by, let's say, Alfred Hitchcock and more or less none of the content was changed, it'd be known as one of the greatest (if not most ambitious) horror movies ever made. Go figure.

I totally disagree, for one, alfred hitchcock was'nt that scary. There was some blood in blair witch perhaps you should watch it again. The movie is not scary. There's nothing scary about listening to kids kids stomp around the forrest complaining and crying for two hours. It's just irratating. Low budget 60's film? Night of the living dead, still scary.
There is a test, if you can watch a movie twice in a row, and it does'nt bore you the second time, then it's a good movie.
Now can you explain why My video store lost money on such a "great" movie? The copies shold have been flying off the shelf if this movie was so great. Obviously I'm not alone here in thinking it sucked.
I will give allowances for many movies, as I love all kinds of movies. But this one movie I will never change my oppinion on. It is not going to get better with age, it will not slowly become a classic as others have done. It is my duty to insult this movie for the tripe that it was. Imagination is a great gift, and it's great if a movie inspires that. But the movie should fill in something. I should'nt have to imagine, the plot, the acting, the scary parts, the entire film would have to be imagined better. At that point I'd just be imagining something better.
I hated this movie.......
