what should a girl do when she is totally crazy about a guy friend of hers that she has known since she was a baby, and is her ex of about... say, ten years, give or take a couple? and they hang out all the time, but he's a total flirt. and he flirts with every girl. almost. but he does things with her that he doesn't do with other people... so she's really not sure if he likes her as more than a friend, or only does these things because of their history...

let's put it this way, would you rather lose one of your best friends completely because you took a risk and it didn't turn out right, or at least have some satisfaction in knowing that they care for you as a friend. even if you are constantly thinking about how you wish you were more, you would at least have that much...

and as for the chess players, well am i not also a chess player? and yet here i am, asking for advice. just because you play chess does not necessarily mean that you are old or completely and totally ununderstanding! i know of several young people on this site... well, at least as young as is allowed...😵
