If our guests like it, then it should be on the menu. It's not like the Swedish traditional dish "surströmming" https://visitsweden.com/what-to-do/food-drink/swedish-kitchen/fermented-herring/ which really divides people in two groups - love it or hate it.

In the uk we have rollmop herrings which might be a similar thing. I don’t touch them myself.
