I'm gonna have to scope out Reacher.

Anyone's gotta be better than Tom Cruise in the role.
The first movie is very good.

Agree, sticks to the book. The guy playing Reacher looks like Reacher.

Haven't seen it myself, but one of my uncles says Reacher on Amazon Prime Videos gets the books right. I did like Alan Ritchson in DC Titans, so will give it a try next time I subscribe.
Just started Reacher on Amazon Prime, as a direct result of hearing about it here. Thanks for mentioning it.

Two episodes in, out of 8, and this is a Jack Reacher treatment that is leagues ahead of Tom Cruise's portrayal. This is a highly enjoyable production.

I last saw Alan Ritchson in Catching Fire, the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy. He's much better in this.

Willa Fitzgerald is impressive in this as well. Overall, I'd say well-done, with excellent casting.

What movie?

The Tom Cruise Reacher?

You've got to be joking.

The Ritchson Reacher is not a movie. It's an 8-part series.

Why would I be joking?

Oh, you were serious?

Jack Reacher is 6' 5" in the books.

Tom Cruise is 5' 7". Not realistic. At all.

And you call me delusional.

You are delusional, but responding to your silly non sequitur is still amusing .

I said it was a good film, I didn’t say it was realistic.

I watch Disney+ on my Roku box, so I've always seen their stuff at 1080p.
Speaking of which, Disney+ finally updated their Windows Store app a few months ago, so I can also watch their stuff on my PC at 1080p.

Cool. I'm trimming my subscriptions at the moment, so might do Amazon Prime next month instead of Netflix.

Haven't seen any of the Hunger Games but probably should. I guess I thought it was another stupid YA (young adult) series -- but those are the subversive ones, are they not? 😉 Still need to see Winter's Bone, too. I have seen "Mother!" and I loved it.

As for Paramount+ I'm probably going to wait until June or July to minimize the cost for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and also catch up on Discovery and Picard then.

(I didn't like how the previous season of Picard ended re: Picard himself. I've been a science-fiction fan for almost 50 years and would have gone more post-human or even Stapledonian. Cowards. Spoon-feeders. Why is Star Fleet so constipated when it comes to human evolution?)

Too bad there isn't a new episode of SNL this weekend, because a Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson vs the worst of the Republicans skit just writes itself.

Or maybe it did already.

So maybe next weekend Lindsey Graham will go into permanent residential rehab?

My wife and me binge-watched "Bridgerton" second season.
It was not as good as the firts season (I presume we will watch the third season next year anyway)

I've been watching Hikaru Nakamura streaming. He is an amazing player and seems to be a great person. By far my favorite male GM of modern times.

Now I have finally watched the first episode of the Alan Ritchson Reacher, and I like it, not just for him.

I'm not much of a binger, but I can handle an eight-episode arc.
