castling in to a practically open file, with a rook looming down on you is not exactly the cleverest move available.

This one meets the criteria. Black resigned on move 18, but if he didn't, on move 19 he would have been checkmated. This one is actually worth looking at. I used repetative check and at the end a double check to win.

This game was against a good player who was rated higher than me when this was played last week.

He sacked a piece early on to get a stong attack. I was pretty sure the sac wasn't correct and I could grind it out to an endgame.

Then he queenside castled into a forced mate. A lucky break for me.

It's a nice short game.

Game 2656514

This was an exiting game for me. After I ferretted out his finchettoed bishop to weaken the kingside, I castled long to rush pawns at his finchettoed kingside.

Normally I bumble into these situations. This was the first one I planned and it went well. 17. ..., Rh8 made it sort of a helpmate but noone is perfect.

20 moves on the dot with 20. g3#. His Rook, Queen and Bishop all have great scope but aren't in a posistion to help.

I think we were both rated around 1300 when the game started.

Most of my quick wins come from another site (goes to show the quality of play here).

You'll have to make do with text for these. (I wonder if Russ will add a feature to upload games?)

1. d4 Nf6
2. Bg5 c5
3. c3 Qb6
4. Qc2 cxd4
5. cxd4 Qxd4
