Originally posted by kuoniThe basic attacking scheme was the same. It's an Italian game where white castles and plays an early h3. And black, who has yet to castle, starts the attack by marching his g and h pawns. The ending varies a little because in my game white initiates the exchange of knights. But Chernev covers that variation. So nothing brilliant on my part. The attack plan was already laid out for me to follow.
How, precisely, were they similar? Aside from being brilliant examples of attacking play. 😀
KneeCaps:
Not to put to fine a point on the matter but aside from a few minor points of similarity ( white with a pawn at h3) the game you give is a flank attack where as you mention the h and g pawns are advanced-this launched from an uncastled king's position at a castled position.
Where as the game I gave is directed at the uncastled king with threats to c7 and f7 coupled with a king hunt which is nearly as long as the entire game.
Lastly, is the game you quote Chernev's or yours? The caption is unclear.🙂
