Originally posted by Mephisto2Muzio is fun. Though I've had only a single game against it as black (I never play KG as white) and I lost, even worse, I was crushed. I had never encountered this opening, I had no idea what to do, I just grabbed the knight, later the bishop on f7. And that was a 15-0 OTB game.
OTB I would play Bg7, because when white plays this he is probably well prepared for the Muzio. But here, sure, why not a Muzio: g4.
Originally posted by ares3It looks like the best option to me but what to do about Qh4+?
g4 possibly, but it is quite easy for White to counterattack, I *think* with something like Ne5, attacking the f7 pawn and the g4 pawn.
I prefer d6 actually, but Nc6 is a good move, develops the Knight... etc...
Please don't shatter this to pieces, high-fliers... I have feelings. :'(

I have something against giving up a Knight for an "unsound" attack so Ne5.

Don't think there is anything else.
I don't like this line so would avoid as white and black. If white does play 0-0 then obviously its gXf and from then on I hate it but guess it does me no harm to think about things although I may restrict myself to thinking about the black lines as I would never play this as white.
